Cooling specialist XIGMATEK announced today new 400W green power supply for use in computers. Main features of the PSU, dubbed NRP-PC402, include:
  • Continuous 400W output with very stable voltage regulation and clean DC quality
  • High efficiency over 85%
  • Silent 140 mm black fan, rpm controlled by temperature
  • Dual 12V output rail (2x20A)
  • Active PFC with 0.99 Active PFC rate
  • All Cables are sleeved
  • Provide PCIe 6pin/6+2pin connectors to support high-end graphic cards.

Wow over 85%. That's a bold statement. Let's hope the tests live up to that claim! Good wattage too. Most of the lower end users on TechPowerUp would do perfectly with one of these.

My main PC isn't exactly low-wattage, but this Xig might possibly be a good PSU for it. Looks good anyways.

I'm sick of all this "Green" garbage. It's a joke and is nothing more than marketing fluff.

Not really or necessarily .....

The positive side of this, are that this days the PSU builders , because of the certification ,
they started to care more , about making devices that comply with this new " environmental friendly " regulations .

Now imagine this .... i am the power plant ... i create 1Kw of power for you , the 60% got lost in the way , until your power socket .... if your PSU wastes more power in the way to power up your computer , i will be forced to produce more power .... double my power production.

I need double amount of petrol or other natural sources ..... yes .. but natural sources are not unlimited .

You must always, having in your mind the complete picture , and not what your eyes can see. ;)
