Advice needed for buying a new PSU

Hello everyone.

Note: The thread I've opened in the System Builder's Advice section is probably too dense thus I'm breaking things up a bit so I can make some progress.

Considering that the PSU that I had initially opted for is a bit pricey, since yesterday I've started some research in the hope of discovering some cheaper alternatives.
I've read various reviews on hwbusters.com and also used the tier list on cultists.network to get comparable alternatives and then checked what the price situation is in my country.
Therefore I made a list with the lowest prices for every model as of today.

This is the PSU I was intent on getting initially:

The PSU is supposed to power the following system or thereabouts:

- CPU: most probably Ryzen 7950X
- RAM: 32 or 64 GB RAM (I'll probably go with 64 GB but it's not settled yet)
- GPU: this is where things go south as I'm likely referencing vaporware, but here goes: a 5070 Ti / 4080 Super / 5080 type GPU if I can get one as close to MSRP as possible (good luck with that). I've abandoned the idea of going with a 7900 XTX.
- Drives: two M.2 Gen4 2 TB drives, a 2 TB HDD and a 4 TB HDD.
- Fans: I'm eyeing the Phanteks G500A which has 4 included and the AC Freezer III 360 which has 3.
^No overclocking as I don't see the benefit.

By the looks of it I should pull the trigger on the Thermaltake GF3 1200. But I want some more opinions on that, because I'm not sure that it will be unanimous.
That's because the Super Flower Leadex 1300 is a little more expensive but packs a bigger punch and the quality is on par if not better.
I know that a wattage of 1200 / 1300 is absolutely overkill for the config in my example but I'm basically not spending any extra money over my initial option.

RM1000e 2025 for native 12v-2x6 and ATX 3.1 spec compliance, otherwise the 1300 W Super Flower. Can't go wrong with either of those

Pretty much any of those listed should work for your PC.

If you're certain you won't be getting a 5090 class card (600W) any time in the future, any ATX 3.x 850W PSU will also do fine.

Is there anything in particular you're looking for, such as low operating noise? In that case, I'd opt for the not listed FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W (or 850W).

if you are on HB already, why go to a tier list. Aris already has his best of list

So yeah it's probably more marketing than anything else, it's not like PSUs that don't have the 12V-2x6 socket are now obsolete.

I'm very certain, I can't afford a MSRP 5090 let alone a street price one. )))))
I'll be having mad trouble getting a 5080 for a semi-reasonable price.

No not really, just not noisier than usual to be honest. But I figured that an overkill PSU is going to be pretty quiet anyway since it's not breaking up a sweat.

For the cheaper ones yes there is money to be saved compared to 1200W models, but not that much, it was to be expected that bigger ones offer more watts per currency unit. I'm not against going for a 850W one, I'm sure it will suffice, the only issue is getting one at a really good price because as I've said these smaller ones offer less watts in relation to the money.
For example:

Same series so apples to apples. We can immediately see that the 1000W has a bad price, if it were 155 € it would have 6.45 W/€ which would be somewhere in between the 850W and the 1300W one.
Based on this example I am considering the 850W Super Flower PSU. 50 € is not that much but I can buy something with it.

The FSP Hydro Ti Pro models are really expensive:

I know it's a little too shoehorned but it does have a bit of merit in the sense that it can give the reader a general direction to follow, and the direction is pretty accurate, but probably most readers will not dig deeper than a couple of reviews after that.
I've read the article and even so there are multiple options, probably price is the decisive factor.
