Today, AMD announced global availability of the world's first x86 7 nm commercial notebook processors, the AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Mobile family, delivering the most cores and threads in an ultrathin business notebook. These new processors are fully optimized for remote work capabilities and designed to take business computing to the next level with multi-threading performance for modern productivity. E-series? Thats their... "economy" line. I was hoping they would be in the T-series or even X.

I'm hoping the new Flex 14 with the 4700U comes out soon too.

These are the Pro SKUs, so I guess for most consumers, this doesn't really matter all that much.

Well, the real issue here is that because it is the E-series, they tend to not get the best LCD panels, keyboard layout and port/slot connectivity (even with Intel parts), so while the CPU is vastly superior to any other mobile x86 now, the rest of the laptop may likely be subpar. This is why I had hoped they would've gone with the X or T variants first, to really show off what a newer AMD-based professional laptop can do.

This is why I had hoped they would've gone with the X or T variants first, to really show off what a newer AMD-based professional laptop can do.

As they are only using the 15W "U" variant it's most likely the more premium laptops will get the faster chips.

I would assume T495 will get a refresh which is ryzen based.

got the A15 myself and the cpu(4800h) is absolutely monsterous, on par with Xeon-W 2145\2245 8 core 16 thread Skylake-X.
that is a common Workstation cpu and you have a 45W laptop doing it, 4600H or 4600U should be a real contender for something that is cheap and will last quite a while

Leveno to me have better feeling scissor keyboards than most laptop brands honestly so I'm good with that. It would be cool if they went for a optical scissor switch eventually still waiting on those to become a thing plenty of optical switches come about, but haven't seen one that's a low profile scissor switch design unfortunately give it time though and someone will make one.
