Hello, I've heard from multiple sources that the 8320 is just an underclocked 8350. Also i've heard that users have been able to achieve a stable overclock running the processor at 8350 speeds with the stock cooler by just increasing the multiplier to 20 and disabling turbo boost technology. However, in my attempt in overclocking i noted that my processor ran hotter than said users' cpu's. Would anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? (other than trying to overclock with the stock cooler...)

It depends on the CPU and airflow in the case. You might see few degrees drop by opening the case side.

You can lower the CPU volts and see if that helps.

CPU volts could probably be dropped a few notches. I assume you left it on auto?

I'd try setting it manually to 1.30v and go from there. Stress test it and make see if it is stable, if it is drop the voltage one notch, repeat until it is unstable then go back one notch. If it isn't stable at 1.30v then go up one notch and repeat until it is stable. But auto tends to give it a little more voltage than is necessary in my experience.

I went into the bios and i was slighlty confused, increasing the multiplier was straightforward but this is different?

Set it to +0.000 first, reboot and see what the voltage goes to. If it is still 1.312 then go to -0.01000, that should lower the voltage to 1.302. If it is something other than 1.312 when you have it set to 0.0000 then just do the math and figure out what value will get you closest to 1.30v.
