Good Day Everyone, I trust this day finds you well.
I have this weird problem where my AMD GPU will disable in Windows 11 and revert to the Intel HD 2500 igpu.
This only happens on Windows 11 and this happens with 2 GPUs. I tested on a RX 470 4gb and an RX550 2gb
My system are:
CPU: I5 3340
Cooler: Custom Built Full Copper Air Cooler.
Mobo. Asrock Z68 Pro3 Gen 3
Memory 24gb ddr 3 1600
PSU: Various Main, Cooler Master 500w 80+
What I tried.
-Use an older driver(Removed with DDU)
-Use different Power Supplies.
-Try on different Systems. All other systems are AMD and all of them works correctly with these GPU's. Including different psu's, etc. and same memory etc.
-Tried on older OS. Windows 7 and Linux Works Correctly.
-Undervolted GPU.
-Download a fresh and still a fresh copy of Windows from Microsoft Website.
Can't seem to find the error report for the GPUs. What makes it difficult to pinpoint is that it is random.
I can run Heaven Benchmark in a loop for 6-7h and it works fine. Then I play a low key game like Monster Sanctuary and it will disable GPU.
One thing that is weird is that my RX470 Platinum Edition 4gb Runs 83C or 79C when Undervolted. My RX 550 2gb runs 85C when gaming.
My case is an older early 2000's case. I built it with the intent of having proper cooling for a longer GPU. The RX550 are very small so doubt
the cooling solution are adequate to cool the 550. I will try to find time and adjust the cooling solution to see if I can get the temp down and
if this will prevent the disable.
