Hi, guys. My CPU is AMD Phenom II X2 550 and my motherboard is Gigabyte GA MA770t-ud3 and I have tried to unlock the 2 cores to make my cpu a quad core. Look at this screenshoot, not all programs are showing me 4 cores (cpu-z) and I didn't notice a fps progress in games such as Mafia2 or BF:BC2. What did I do wrong?

PS. Sorry for all mistakes but english is not my native language.

Check task manager and screenshot that for me please. May need more cpu-nb volts and check core control if available in BIOS. Another thing to look into, a BIOS update if all else fails.

Does it show 4 cores on Bios (post)

Try CPU-z , also dual core vs quad core in games hardly shows any differences but it will in benchmarks ;)

Damn, I don't know why it uses so much of CPU

Before I had an AUTO in ACC but it doesn't make difference so I changed to PER CORE.

check this

goto run and type MSCONFIG then goto boot.INI tab then at the bottom there is advanced options click it then goto /numproc= and make sure it says 4 or unchecked

From what i am seeing* & you telling us that Auto didn't work , let me to believe that your CPU do not Unlock

Don't forget it is a 50/50% change that it will unlock , looks like yours is in the 50% that does not unlock...:ohwell:
You may raise the CPU voltage a bit +025v & let ACC to auto but i pretty sure yours won't unlock

* Windows performance only showing dual core (two threads only)

It says 2 :/
Okay, thanks people for your help ;)

Set it to all cores 0% and see if you post. If you don't last resort, update your BIOS if not on latest revision.

EDIT
Even if boot configuration shows 2 that's still not the issue.

Won't it damage CPU?

BTW. My bios version is f7 but the newest is f10

EDIT. I changed to 0% but it didn't changed anything.

Try F10 then. Although I have a feeling you got a dud for unlocking. Enjoy a dual core :)

I will try it tomorrow.
Normally I would not try to unlock these cores but I'm worried how Battlefield3 will be working.

but can you change it to 4? some people had that proble malready ;)

Your windows detect 2, but if at startup you tells the OS to run of 2 core, then all app will detect 2 cores, but your windows will say you have 4 "CPU" while 2 is active.
