absolutely not. something must be wrong with the card physically, maybe mounting pressure, bad thermal paste

80 degrees is pretty hot for a cooler that beefy. Hotspot temps can be pretty variable, but 120C is hot enough to damage the card over time. Is the GPU still in warranty?

Benchmark Scores (My Windows daily driver is a Beelink Mini S12 Pro. I'm not interested in benchmarking.)
There's something wrong with the card.

I have an Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12G OC and the cooler worked very capably during the month before I slapped a full-length waterblock on the deshrouded PCB. In fact, I don't think the temperature with the TUF cooler even reached 70 °C even during a sustained load (gaming, Unigine benchmarks, whatever).

At least here in the USA, I believe the warranty on Asus graphics cards is three years which would still be valid on all Ampere and RDNA2 cards.

I brought the graphics card about 1 month ago and still have warranty. Today I checked the Temps again and today it is rainy and not warm and the gpu hotspot hit 111 degrees and ambient temperature 81 degrees. I have a mini itx build but the gpu can get fresh air from the outside.

What are your idle temps (when not running any games), and what about the air temp in your room?

Also, try taking both the glass and mesh panels out, see if it improves.

I don’t now what my room temp is but I think it’s about 23 degrees. Now I removed the side panels and it didn’t really help for the hot spot, but the ambient temp dropped to 79 degrees. Normally when I use my pc for school the fans don’t spin and that means it’s under 55 degrees. When I play games like Minecraft or btd6 or R6 siege and some other not really graphic intense games the pc is barely hearable and not making lot of heat. In really graphic intense games like in games with ray tracing like shadow of the tomb raider with max settings or while benchmarking like now this happens.

No it doesn’t shut down it works completely normal

Hw monitor says gpu ambient temp so I wrote ambient temp
Could you please try the "radeon settings" "Metric" Tab and see what temps are displayed there. The GPU should have a shutdown Temp @ 118C so 120C shouldn't even be possible.

Your GPU is overheating, it shouldn't be showing such high temperatures:

What is your case model and where is it placed physically? Do you keep it in a cabinet, or very near the wall?

Well first of all try something like GPUZ, hwinfo or AIDA64.
This application is pretty bad IMO ~

I have a Thermaltake the tower 100 mini case and in the first photo you see where the pc is kept. It is in an open place next to my desk and my door. The air is coming from the mesh panels in photo 2 (in the right side there is a mesh too). There is also the power supply that is taking air from the mesh in the bottom you can see it in photo 3. The gpu has it own intake from the mesh panels in the left. The outtake is combined with a 120mm radiator and fan. The radiator config is pull

Could you please try the "radeon settings" "Metric" Tab and see what temps are displayed there. The GPU should have a shutdown Temp @ 118C so 120C shouldn't even be possible.
I use hw monitor to monitor the temps and the hot spot was 120 degrees. I use the performance bios

what is that fan at the bottom doing if the PSU is getting air from the bottom? isn't it just throwing air against the back of the psu, solid metal?
that gpu against the glass doesn't help, i now it gets some air in the side, still, that case design seems far from ideal.

but even with all that temps should not be that high. You have to open the gpu and take a look inside.

It's Celsius from the screenshots, but that's clearly wrong. HWmonitor is pretty trash in that regard, consistently inaccurate in a lot of systems I've seen.

Don't use HWMonitor, it hasn't been updated in a long time and it doesn't work well with modern hardware.

I suggest using HWiNFO64 instead; but your case clearly cannot handle a high-TDP scenario and you should be conservative with your voltage/frequency curve.

My take is that the ambient case temperature is too high, resulting in elevated thermals overall. In other words, the heat which accumulates inside is not being extracted at an adequate rate. What is your case/motherboard temperature on the desktop? Is your GPU temp 56c at idle?

Second, your case has an exhaust fan at the back, which seems to be completely obstructed. In your current position the back of the case seems to be touching the shelf/wall.

Try testing with the case on your desk. Also, remove that pointless dust filter on the back fan :kookoo:

that pointless dust filter on the back fan.

It seems the manufacturer also had the idea for mounting the fans other way around for air intake?

This is the only intake fan. It sits on a perforated tray and is supposed to suck air in through the vents at the base of the case:

No way that is normal that is freaking hot it should not get this hot, i would recommend also using hwinfo64 instead of outdated tool like hardware monitor, you probably getting a false readout, what does the amd control panel performance metrics read out it does not show a min max but it least should be accurate there.

now i'm even more confused or my eyes are playing a trick on me, you want to intake from the bottom but have a fan turned down at the bottom?!
