Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
The 1650's party trick isn't performance, it's performance/Watt with a 75W limit that doesn't require a PCIe power cable.

Anyone with the PSU to support it will spend a tiny fraction more and grab a ~100W 1650 super which is a far better match for the RX 5300 based on that set of graphs you just posted.

Unless it's priced to undercut a vanilla 1650 the comparison AMD are making isn't realistic and isn't a fair comparison given the power limitations that force a 1650 to use GDDR5 and reduced clocks.

That is some very limited bandwidth and I have doubts of it beating the 1650. Also, the 3GB vram is going to be really harsh on an AMD card.

If they have a 6GB version close to $150, then it could be enticing. After all, they have 4/8GB 5500xt's.

Indeed. The real competition doesn't come from this generation, but the last.
You can still regularly find $99 RX570 cards. Sure, they use 50% more power but there's no denying they'll be faster than either the 1650Super or this new RX5300
Also, the appeal of a 3GB card vanishes when it costs more than a 4GB or 8GB card :(

An Rx 570 is not faster than a 1650 Super. A 1650 Super trades blows with an Rx 580.

This new card might do ok on esport titles, but on AAA games (even older ones) its going to get slammed.

Hmm yeah you're probably right. I can think of a few titles where the 570 does better than a 1650S but overall it's probably just a tad behind. AMD wins in Frostbite engined games but loses to UnrealEngine for example.

The problem with AMD/Nvidia comparisons is that when they're closely matched overall, there's enough variance either way with different titles that it really pays to look at the titles you're playing.

RX570 is definitely faster than vanilla 1650 and at $100-120 it's a good 20% cheaper too so I still think it'll be valid competition for the 5300 and 1650S even if it's not able to outperform them in (m)any titles.

No doubt AMD cherry picked the benchmarks, but also, there is a gddr6 1650 that is about the same price. This thing will be about the same price with 1 GB less vram. Can't see a win for AMD here.

I was puzzled when they launched this card. Curious how it OCs. It's bandwidth is about the same as my old factory OC HD7870 GHz edtion!

I wonder how AMD decide for their lower lineup. If the 5700 and 5600 are pretty interesting price/performance combinations, the 5500/5300 are really disappointing, maybe they have too thin margins here and they can't go lower?

Good point. I speculate they want to get out to market RDNA chips asap even right down to replace lower end polaris series.

The only logical reason I think is that TSMC's 7nm isn't cheap, and they prefer to use the capacity there for products whey have more margin, like CPUs, APUs and higher tier graphic cards.
