I found this one but it's too old to post too(http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=74497) so I thought I'd start another, I just got myself a Coolermaster HAF 932 and I can't believe the new temps... 12 degrees cooler on the CPU/MB is 8 degrees cooler and videocards are a whopping 16 degree cooler at idle!! My X2 now idles both cores at 36 degrees... w00t... Oh yeah my last case was a *cough* Lian something or other.... :) well here it is...

Yeah that's the funny thing about the UD3P... No NB sensor but the Board system temp is 36degrees idle and it's rock solid, I've tried in order with this CPU, Rampage x48, DFI LT X48, Asrock P45XE, GIG X48 DS4 and the Rampage2, this UD3P smokes em all but the closest competitor was the Asrock believe it or not at 4.2GHz... I knew this CPU had guts since the day I plugged it in. After awhile you just get that "feeling"... :)

Awesome, can you share some details like the settings in BIOS (VCore, PLL, Termination, etc?), thanks!

Vcore is at 1.36 volts in Windows with Zero Vdroop(LLC On) RAM is at 2.26V-2.28V either works well with 8gigs NB is high at 1.52V because of the 5 Hard Drives(My Theory) the rest is auto... Which brings me to this pll myth and how any higher than 1.3 or 1.4v fries yer CPU, I know of only one reviewer that said that this fried the CPU they were working on at 1.5v or something like that, I asked them to prove it and Fry another the same way(I got no response), you can't tell people that's what caused it if you can't/won't duplicate it. I believe they had a bad CPU plain and simple. So whatever auto is that's where I'm stable. Anything else and I'm glad to share.

***EDIT***
Oh yeah my place is a little cool today, I'm idling at 24 degrees(CPU) 32 degrees(MB), 4870x2 both cores @ 34 Degrees... Man I'm in Love with this HAF!

Nice clocks.

Which Prime95 test did you run?

I'll see how my DFI P45 JR compares in Antec 900 with Q9550.

Yes, i'm pretty sure that the HAF Case is helping a lot haha. But that MoBo is also epic for OC, based on the overclocks i've seen on Core 2 and the UD3P/R MoBos. :D

It is... and I went through a lot of boards for a lot more money(Sold em All) that don't come close to this thing for LGA775 quads.... I can do 4400 but it's just not stable enough for my taste... ;)

***EDIT***
I've been Epic on my OC'ing since my P2B-F and Celeron 300A running at 504MHz(Hardcore!)... But this PC is nuts at 52% Overclock on air... And remember I didn't invent these items, I just put em' together...

OK I'm a little buzzed right now and I just have to say, overclocking is not about buying the Fastest most expensive hardware money can buy and making it faster... it's about buying the least expensive hardware you can afford and making it as fast or faster(heh heh)... as the stuff that costs more. I've never had videocards like these but I got lucky and bought em used together real cheap.... Mid range hardware at Max speeds... ya gotta love it. OK speech over, I just had to say it cause nobody else has... :)

I'm very impressed with the voltages on your Q9550. Lucky you, it appears you have a golden Q9550. Did you recently buy it? Very nice.

I did some tweaking on my RIG to try to duplicate your settings.

DDR2 is done but with only 4GB.
Can't match your overall power draw that is in your system.
I have Corsair TX650 which I think is enough quality juice to push my Q9550.
I'm going to duplicate your test here in a few minutes.

Be back in the future.

How many minutes did you run the small FFT test?

Your screen shot appears to only be at the FFT 8k test which would indicate you didn't run it very long.

Suddenly I'm having a hard time believing you were able to run this test with your Q9550 with only 1.36 volts.

Update.

Had to increase voltage for stability. Couldn't match your CPUs voltage.

With increased CPU voltages it will be very tough to match your 30 minute CPU temp readings.
I'm at 1.52 volts on CPU. I don't think I have ever pumped this much voltage into it. Hope it doesn't crash and burn. Strange how some Q9550s have different voltage tolerances. This is one of the biggest tests I've given it.

My Antec 900 has good air flow. Here are some pics of my Q9550's home.

Crazy volts for 4.3ghz SonDa5 ; It's like you have a c1 disguised as an e0.

Hardly an C1. I know my E0 is one of the early batches. Before this E0 i had a C1 and I had a very tough time getting it to 3.8GHZ. It wasn't very stable either. This Q9550 E0 is rock solid stable.

I'm still running the test. Have 1 hour and 37 minutes into it and is at test 9 using FFT 24k. :rockout:

I'll post screen shots of my temps here soon. I want to go at least 2 hours with my OC then save it in my BIOS for benchmarks.

At 1.52 volts I'm happy to report my temps are doing ok. :pimp:

How many minutes did you run the small FFT test?
I run 8k for about half an hour then 1024k to test memory for about the same ammount of time, to me that's solid. I could loop it overnight but I don't see a point in a$$ raping my CPU. If you're too overclocked Prime will fail just about instantly, if you fail after some time... it's usually a heat issue on one of your components.

Your screen shot appears to only be at the FFT 8k test which would indicate you didn't run it very long.

Like I said, half an hour I'm satisfied. I usually loop 3Dmark06 with ALL settings maxed out overnight, if that passes, then I'm a happy camper.

Suddenly I'm having a hard time believing you were able to run this test with your Q9550 with only 1.36 volts.
Heh heh it's all in the board man, my Asrock only needed 1.28V for 4.2GHz solid as a (As)rock heh heh, but this CPU is gold... I'm sure I could do the same with just about any E0 Q9550 with more or less voltage. Try putting your pll on AUTO and lower your CPU voltage a bit, I know I didn't like my DFI LT-x48... 3.8GHz and it was maxed out, FSB wall(Board) for sure, 1mhz faster FSB and got lockups.

Nice looking rig! Is that Phase or water, NVM I see it's water... I had the CoolIT Domino with an extra 120mm fan in push/pull and it would hit in the 90's on max load... but it was better than my Xiggy at idle speeds.

But to be fair, it was in my old case and was drawing in all that Hot air. Now may be a different story but I don't think I'll be installing it... if anyone wants a Domino NIB... lemme know.

I am in the market for the HAF 932, and tooncinator you may have just sealed the deal. 12 degrees off the cpu, 36 degrees idle for a 4870x2? :rockout:

Please remember I modded the x2 BIOS and the Fan is running 40% minimum, In real life I don't hear it at all and it never spikes even in the hardest games... 40% is the best speed I would say for Quiet/Cooling.
