Preface follows:
I am a programmer/digital artist that left the states many years ago and have been surviving as a digital nomad with a laptop since.
I built this desktop a year ago after my laptop died. I used to build PCs in the 90s and 2000s.
I did not realize mining actually became a real thing. I figured it a fad like Beanie Babies.
Here in Spain, PC parts are not as easy to get nor as cheap as the US.
Everything I bought new from Amazon.es (Prime only) while silently weeping at the price differences on Amazon.com.
My Problem:
Crazy artifact screen before POST (goes away with CSM enabled in BIOS).
Constant GPU crashes in Unity3D and during gaming (My wife has had it happen during Pinstripe, but not Stray)
Internet keeps directing me here and mentioning mining card vBios.
Is it possible this card was flashed for mining and/or has the wrong vBios?
My Setup:
ASUS TUF B550M-PLUS
AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Vega 8 onBoard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3200MHz
Cooler Master MWE 750 Gold V2
I used the Vega 8 for a year, but needed something better for Blender and my wife's games.
I bought the Peladn AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB. It is not used (Not indicated anywhere). It was not a crazy cheap deal ($100 more than the 80 suspicious RX 580s that weren't Prime).
Yes it's Chinese. So is my Huawei phone and the quality is great.
However, I did not realize the GPU was an RX 580 8GB 2048SP or possibly a mining card.
The Peladn website just redirects to the AMD site for Adrenaline Drivers.
I tried this vBios from here, but it almost bricked it.
I also took the heatsink off and took photos of the Samsung chips and anything else that had a sticker or number of interest.
I thank any and everyone for their time.
