Using 3080TI now and want to upgrade. Will have to wait and see the price and performance of the 5 series.

Yes, I'm thinking a 5090 if it's not ridiculously priced because I'm probably going to go 4K next even though I know 4K is a money pit. I will need a completely new build as well. What I've got now doesn't make sense unless you know that for the last few years I've been playing nothing but games from the 1990s through mid 2000s but it's time to move back to modern games. I figure $2,000 for the build. $600 for the monitor and probably $2,000 for the 5090. Seems like a lot but it really isn't considering I spend around 20 to 25 hours a week gaming and this rig will last me probably 4 years.

Depends on where I am financially when it comes out and the perfomance uplift. A 19 month old and a house cost a lot of money to raise/maintain out here in cali....

My two gpus 4090/3080ti are doing just fine currently. Also have a backup 6700XT if either dies.... Then I'd definitely get a 5090 lol.

If I was still primarily 4k gaming it would be a definite yes but I swapped to 3440x1440 late last year.

I'd only be interested in the 5090 everything below is way too cut down to be worth what Nvidia asks $$$$ wise.

Since I'm interested in 4K 240hz I would go for either 5090 or the Titan AI (LOL).

There are now three 5-series from NVIDIA. Please specify which. :p

But seriously, considering how the 4070++ i.e. Ti SUPER is roughly equivalent to the 3090, the kind of TDP increase enterprise Blackwell is doing to boost performance, and how there's still zero real benchmark for RTX 5-series...You probably won't miss much with what you already have.

I have a 4090 and am totally thinking about skipping 5 series. Anyone else?
How things looks now - no. I had 2080Ti and skipped cheapo-crappola 8nm Ampere "Power spikes" edition :D RTX 4080 is quite enough for SinglePlayer campaigns (not playing MPs at all) on 170Hz 2K display. We need more finished/optimized/patched games, not more powerful and more expensive GPUs.

But never say never, but I think will wait 2026-2027 and 6000 series to have proper performance jump like i had earlier (GTX 980Ti to RTX 2080Ti to RTX 4080) :D

I have avoided Nvidia for the last 2 generations, and will probably do the same with the 5-series, unless they decrease prices and stop hiding behind the DLSS wall when it comes to RT performance. I mean, since you can't run RT without DLSS on any midrange card anyway, I might as well buy the cheaper alternative and just forget about RT altogether.

Depends. I am not particularly interested in the high-end for personal use anymore, just don’t play AAA games nowadays. So it would depend on what the 400 bucks and below cards are like. It’s really whatever for me, at this point.

Too early to tell. As always, wait patiently. Ada was also a lot better when they pushed out a few Supers. It increased the number of decent cards in the stack from one to a whopping two (4090 and 70ti S).

I'm probably going to buy the RDNA 4 card this generation. It'll depend. But it won't be until the mid-generation refreshes come out. I've other things to focus on right now and my RTX 4080 runs my miHoYo games beautifully at 4K/120

Depends, I'm fine with my 3060 Ti currently but in 2025 I might upgrade tho I have zero interest in the high end cards so at most a 5060/Ti range depending on its performance and prices ofc.
Tbh I would be fine with a 4070 Super too but I really have no use for a faster card currently so eh I will simply wait.:)

I'm waiting for GTA 6 PC to be released, somewhere around 2026.
Till then I keep using my 2070 Super which is still good enough for the games I play at 1440p high refresh.

I'm definitely eyeing up an upgrade for my 4k120 OLED, 3080 10G has been and continues to be an absolute powerhouse that impresses me, but there's nothing quite like having an excess of GPU for the task at hand.

I'm not married to any line of products though, anything that can give me 50%++ over the 3080, with 16G+ and a well rounded feature set and RT performance will get my money.

Nvidia has zero incentive to reasonably price the 5xxx cards.

On the bright side I only upgrade GPU ever other gen; so got another ~three years for AMD to re-enter the enthusiast segment, and/or Intel to make a real play. Guess I better start saving now.

Definitely skipping it. I bought my 7900XTX for the long haul, possibly it won't be until 2027/8 for me to be in the market for a new card.
Won't stop me from looking at whatever new card is launched, so I'll have to deal with my shopping itch as usual.
