I am looking for the new Asrock 7900XTX Aqua bios to flash onto my Phantom. I can't seem to extract it out of Asrock's installer.

You cannot crossflash like that, leave your card alone

Yes you can... if you have a CH341A chip writer.
Yeah and you brick it because they are not the same exact part or kill the gpu because the fan is not keeping the hsf cool

Yeah, that doesn't work either. Its not a supported installer.
I guess it will be a wait until someone has an aqua and does the bios dump

Come listen to @eidairaman1 he knows (I hope I am gender right here) what he is talking about about crossflashing and so on the newer cards can be bricked and if the manufacture than won't help people for their own mistakes you end up with a very expensive paper weight.

Only other Thing I can think of is Igors Lab more power tools to screw with the Phantom Bios.

@W1zzard do you think the file does an online download once executed?

MPT doesn't suppport the 7900 cards, and they don't plan on adding support or, from the sounds of it, developing MPT further, which in turns make the harder OC guys turn to bios options.

As an update, I was able to get my 7900XTX Phantom running with the new Aqua OC bios with the a little direction from turbogear.

So share that info and provide a bios dump for other users to be able to have it as well please.

I don't think we want to share the actual new bios dump. From what turbogear had tested, flashing that bios directly seems to not work and brick the card. It may be a issue with the extraction process with GPU-Z and that specific bios, I am not sure, but I think turbogear was in contact with W1zzard regarding it. You must first flash the original Aqua bios with a CH341a programmer, and AsProgrammer (04062021 version in my case), then use the Asrock OC Aqua bios update utility to update the bios to the higher power limit version.

I don't have my waterblock in yet. I did all the testing in a PC that also doesn't have a large enough PSU to really push that card. Once I get my waterblock in I will be able to mount it in my primary system and get some testing and results going. It looks like everything should be here by Saturday at the lastest, but maybe by Thursday if I am lucky. I may have it ready for some D4.

Yeah the latest AMDVBFlash uses a different command syntax (just helped a 5700XT switch bios and is for the latest cards available.

What I I'm saying is use gpu-z to upload it to the VGA bios collection, there is 1 file there but its the initial release.

Yes, I get what you are saying, and I can do that, but from what Turbogear has found with that specific extracted bios with gpu-z is that it will brick the card if someone trys to use it, so I am not sure it is wise to share.

Hey! I stumbled upon this thread leading up to my atempt to flash my 7900 XTX Hellhound with the Asrock Aqua bios. I got a CH341A programmer and managed to flash one of the Aqua bioses from the TPU bios respitory. However one of my cards bios is now bricked it seems. My guess is that I selected the wrong bios from the bios list and flashed the "Extreme" bios. There seems to be 3 versions of the aqua bios uploaded to Techpowerup, one old version with a 339 powerlimit and 2 versions (uploaded same time and date) with 400w limit (i choose one of these two). People in this thread seem to have had luck making the flash work. Could you please point out which bios is the proper one to flash initially before using the Asrock bios update tool to update the bios to 500w+? Would be greatly appreciated :)

I am not sure if a re-flash will resolve the issue, but that is the only thing I can recommend trying. You want to flash the standard non-extreme Aqua bios, then once that works use AsRock’s utility to update the standard bios to the extreme bios.
