Anyone Know What Happened to RedFox?

Yesterday morning there software product page was gone. Their software purchase page was MIA as well as their forum. Their software doesn’t seem to work either.

Just curious if anyone knows anything.

Yeah, its more then just a possibility that they have fallen and can't get up.

It would be one thing if the forums were down but forums, point of sale and software functionality all down at once points to catastrophe. A pointed attack or just a failure might yield such results too (if they had poor redundancy) but one would think they would recover well within 24 hrs if that were the case.

Still if they were intentionally shuttering the company and all its assets one would also think that they would make some kind of announcement,...

I had no idea either.

It's apparently the latest name of the company that started AnyDVD back in the day. Used to be SlySoft.

I guess they finally had "The Big One" and that's was it.

Sometimes you'll see such companies be around one day, gone the next. It's really sad because some of these smaller outfits really do have good stuff.

If I'm correct, you're referring to "RedFox Games" and there is a page up for it right now - I'm looking at it as I post this.
Rumble Fighter: Free-to-Play Fighting MMO

And if that's not it, well... That's how it goes.

Unfortunately no,...

Super Firm Tofu had it right. It's the latest incarnation of SlySoft,.......or was,...as the case may be.

Just today I tried to visit their website and I noticed that the website is down. Some years ago I bought anyDVD HD and I'm wondering if they will ever be back. I used anyDVD to backup my dvds and Blu-rays.

SlySoft maybe but no the purpose of the thread was RedFox.

For what its worth, I see there are multiple Reddit threads on it. Also at this late stage (they went radio silent on ~June 6th IIRC) it really doesn't look like they are coming back. Even if they were to come back it would be nigh impossible to trust a company that has done this twice (effectively).

I think there had no updates in a long long time, DVDFab do, they are just finished.

You can also rip your legally owned stuff with MakeMKV and Handbreak. Works with UHD discs so no need to pay for any software.

Oh yeah that's a good one, used a few times, free, key must be reactivated each month lol, that's how dev offers it.

Well that's fun, even version update without change (i think to manage the unlock key viability):
MakeMKV is free while in beta, the current free beta key is:
T-QPyLcE8ZjcuccBRkvnbBGAP9xA4q2k1BjlY9kVWID0drUOFXSM4FFvCjaUnTtUq5Nx
(valid until the end of June 2024)
MakeMKV v1.17.7 (15.5.2024)

Version bump, no changes

MakeMKV v1.17.6 (20.1.2024)

Improved handling for discs with mastering errors
Small improvements and bugfixes

I think the "always in beta" is a legal workaround from the big guys.. You can buy a license if you like, but every month on the forums is a new key.
