FEEL THE FRESH AIR - ARCTIC GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of low-noise PC coolers and components, is launching the Summair and Summair Plus table fans today. Both models feature a modern design in black and white and not only fit into any interior, but also provide pleasant cooling, especially on hot days.

SUMMAIR PLUS
The perfect accessory for hot days: the rechargeable battery integrated in the Summair Plus enables up to 25 hours (approx. 14 hours in normal operation) of wireless operation without an external power supply and can be charged within three hours with the supplied USB-C cable. The new Summair Plus is not only easy to use, but also steplessly adjustable from 600 to 3300 rpm. The speed of the fan can be easily adjusted individually via a rotary control.

SUMMAIR
Flexible operation via USB port: the wired Summair has a USB-A port which guarantees a fast and convenient connection. Thanks to the 1.2-metre cable, the fan can be easily operated via the USB port of a PC, laptop, charger, power bank or other power source. With its practical rotary control, the Summair table fan offers a stepless regulation between 600 and 2800 revolutions per minute.

OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE FAN MARKET
The Summair and Summair Plus are based on more than 20 years of know-how in the fan industry. They offer the same ARCTIC quality and reliability as our high quality PC fans. Trust our experience and rely on our expertise.

Arctic might not be so cool on the wallet.

For the Plus, it's worth remembering that it's battery powered. In that range, sure, there are some cheaper generic Chinese rechargeable fans, but the majority only promise 3-12 hours at high speed or 6-20 at low (depending on whether it's a 4" or 5"). You'd have to step up to "camping" and "worksite" versions to have a similar battery capacity, and those are about the same price, pending sales.

I'm sure there's a bit of a premium for the Arctic badge, but assuming the Plus specs are accurate, the pricing is close to other options out there.

But I definitely agree that the cost of the plug-in version isn't really justified considering the much cheaper plug-in options on Amazon.

A desk fan belongs on techpowerup because it's USB powered?

If it was a brand not famous for PC cooling, it wouldn't make it here. But it's Arctic.

No RGB? How do you even find it on your RGB desk, next to RGB keyboard, RGB mouse, RGB mouse mat and RGB cup holder?

Noctua desk fan, where? :)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Noctua/comments/10dx3nj
Considering the desk fan disappeared from Noctua's roadmap about a year ago, my guess is "never", which is a very very sad news when I first researched about that.
Nothing stops them from launcing it from outta nowhere like Arctic did though.
Hey Noctua, you missed a sizable market here! If you actually launch the desk fan I will buy at least 2 though, so please, please launch it!

The generic-branding cheapo desk / portable fan will never ever have the same noise-to-CFM ratio (whatever you want to call that) to quality PC fans. And the portable one I have can only work for <1hr at full bore, which is horrible.
I use a brown Noctua S12A PWM on my office desk with some other generic packaging materials as a makeshift stand and a USB fan controller from Taobao (~RMB$20, with 5V->12V conversion, a rotary and PWM signal output).
I would love to 3D-print a proper housing to make the S12A / maybe an A12x25 portable, but my home is too crowded to actually put down the printer.
I have never used an Arctic product, but considering the reputation Arctic has, I think this product is the closest I can get to a Noctua desk / portable fan with a high-but-still-reasonable price tag. I would say EUR$35-ish is a good price here comparing to the garbage offerings here locally.

I talked to Jakob about this at Computex, he confirmed the fan is low on the priority list at the moment but still something being worked on for the future.

easily paid for by the hundreds i saved over 20y by not buying Noctua.
i lose about 10% in perf, while having 6 and 10 warranty for fans costing ~10$.

did convert 2 F14 years ago to have a usb connection for power.
enough airflow for sitting at the back counter computer, without blocking the floor with a fan..

Well, at least now we know that will eventually get one! yay!

I would imagine A14x25 and D15 and whatever new cooler would have higher priority, so I can't blame them.

Consolation prize however...Marvel movie on Bishop hell yeah hell yeah hell yeah.
Pure comedy! I wouldn't want that either...it would probably cost about $200.

***Bishop is my favorite dude before they started trying to make him so utterly and cringingly...controversial. I hope they can find a good path with him moving forward because he is totally badass.

Hah, in the beginning it appeared like a standard 5v a12x25 being mounted an adapter but no way Noctua would take it so simple. I bet they've already gone through a couple of iterations on it before the shelf appeared more appealing :-D
