I have an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard with the latest i7 Skylake CPU. It installs and boots Windows 7 and 10 fine. GTX 750 GPU, Samsung 850 Pro SSD drives.
When I try to boot the Ubuntu 15 Live CD, or the Fedora 23 Live CD, it gets most of the way thru the bootup, and then fails at the final point when normally the Live Image becomes useful. The install process graphics work. I suspect either an issue with the GTX750 graphics card, or the built-in networking.
I've built up over 30 machines in the past few years, but I admit that I may well overlooked some relevant setting. I find the gaming "BIOS" screen confusing, and settings I should look at may be somewhere I'm not looking.
I don't think it is a UEFI secure boot issue, because I have the legacy boot devices selected. Any suggestions?
