ASUS today announced ZenScreen MB16QHG, a 16-inch portable monitor that offers supersmooth visuals for work and play. The WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS panel features 120 Hz SmoothMotion technology for fluid and responsive visuals. In addition, high-dynamic-range (HDR) technology with DisplayHDR 400 compliance and a 100% DCI-P3 gamut result in imagery with exceptional contrast and color.

ZenScreen MB16QHG includes numerous features to provide users with versatile viewing positions, one of which is a foldable kickstand that securely props the monitor at any angle. The ASUS DisplayWidget Center allows the monitor to sense its orientation and automatically switches the display between landscape and portrait modes. USB-C ports on both sides allow users the flexibility to place the monitor close to either side of a laptop for an almost-seamless extended-screen experience. In addition, an HDMI port ensures broad compatibility with various devices, including laptops, PCs, and gaming consoles.

Exceptional design
Weighing just 1.2 kg and featuring an ultrathin profile that tapers to a mere 7 mm at its edges, ZenScreen MB16QHG slips easily into any bag, allowing users to take it just about anywhere.

The WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS panel features 120 Hz SmoothMotion technology for responsive visuals, so everything from scrolling through webpages to gaming on ZenScreen MB16QHG feels fluid and responsive. High-dynamic-range (HDR) technology with DisplayHDR 400 compliance and a 100% DCI-P3 gamut provide exceptional contrast and rich color. The panel also includes wide 178° viewing angles to ensure superb visuals even when viewed from off-center positions.

ASUS Ultra-Low Blue Light technology reduces potentially harmful blue light emissions and includes additional features such as the Blue Light Filter and Flicker-Free technology that are beneficial to those who spend long hours in front of the display.

Outstanding versatility
ZenScreen MB16QHG includes highly adjustable features that give users the flexibility and versatility to create a setup that best suits differing needs. The foldable L-shaped kickstand securely props it up at any angle. Alternatively, it can also be laid flat on a table in landscape mode for collaborative work. A built-in tripod socket readily fits standard tripods, allowing users to vary the height of the display according to preference.

When connected to a Windows PC, the ASUS DisplayWidget Lite tool enables ZenScreen MB16QHG to sense its orientation and automatically switches the display between landscape and portrait modes. Landscape mode is ideal for presentations and spreadsheets, while portrait mode makes it easy when it comes to coding websites and provides the perfect view when reading documents or books.

Extensive connectivity
ZenScreen MB16QHG has a rich selection of connectivity options, including two USB-C ports for versatility-one on each side of the monitor, and each wired for display signal and power. In addition, an HDMI port provides broad connectivity with various devices and a 3.5 mm audio jack is ready for wired headsets.

Sustaining an incredible future
ASUS ZenScreen MB16QHG is stringently tested to meet the requirements of world-leading sustainability certifications. These tests include a comprehensive database of up-to-date criteria, independent verification, and a structured system for continuous improvement. Lastly, ZenScreen MB16QHG is shipped in sustainable FSC Mix-certified packaging.

Given their other portable offerings cost 1.5x over competing offerings expecting this to be another $400-500 product.

That’s my sentiment too but the Ally is surprisingly inexpensive, compared to the steam deck and ayaneo portable handhelds.

For portable displays that certainly seems to be the case where Viewsonic and others are significantly cheaper than offerings from this company with massive hubris. I found LG monitor with similar specs for $350 so lets where this SKU lands.

The Ally isn't a monitor.
But it's a portable device is it not? OP said "Given their other portable offerings cost 1.5x over competing" and I was merely agreeing that Asus is usually overpriced, and that's why the Ally's price was surprising.

Yeah let's see. Given that it's a ProArt and not a Strix, I think prices may be reasonable. Also 120 Hz? If the price is right, I might look into it.
