Hi everyone!

I was building my system now and got this problem. no post on the display, gpu and cooler fans and ram rgb are spinning, yellow DRAM light is blinking every 2 seconds and by the sound of the fans it seems like the whole system is turning off and on, like the noise created by fans is going down and then goes back to normal, like a car that that can't start up. I hope I was able to express the problem :)

switched ram sticks (borrowed from a friend)

tried single ram stick on different slots (XPG DDR4 D50)

swapped psu

updated BIOS via usb flashback (although the box said mobo is 5000 series ready) (usb 2.0 flash formatted in FAT32 via ms dos)

installed older BIOS via usb flashback

cleared CMOS by taking out the battery and shorting the pins

monitor cable connected to GPU, not mobo (gpu works on another PC)

gpu and cooler fans and ram rgb are spinning

Anybody had similar problem? Any help is appreciated.

Have you updated the BIOS on the motherboard? As I recall, the B550's need a later BIOS to support the 5xxx series Ryzen's. I could be wrong, but I have the Asus B550-F Strix and it seems like I read that on the BIOS page.

What ram are you using?

Keep in mind also, if you need to update the BIOS, it doesn't require a processer to be installed to update it.

Cpu pins are not damaged as far as I see, motherboard is Asus ROG strix b550-a gaming. It says it is 5000 series ready on the box, but I still updated BIOS.

Get to a shop and have those parts tested, if the cpu boots in another motherboard, the motherboard is junk.

the yellow LED is probably blinking because the system resets over and over again. Either way, yellow DRAM LED means either no memory or faulty memory.
Though assuming that the memory you borrowed from your friend came from a working system, that leaves motherboard or CPU. Neither of which there are much of any fancy tests to figure it out with other than trying each of them with known working replacements.

A good re-seat of all connections and never hurts though. Never underestimate a good wiggle-wiggle-wiggle, yeah to solve weird problems.

Take the Mb out of the case and see if it will boot. You may have a something grounding out.

İ did that, same result

reseated everything several time, nothing changed.

I will go to a shop tomorrow

The pieces that you have should work together. The RAM does not appear to be on the QVL list, but the listing for the RAM mentions AMD, so I'm not concerned about it. Really does look like either the CPU or the motherboard is faulty.

What cooler are you using? Coolers that are over tightened can some times cause memory issues.

Vetroo v5, not sure about over tightening it though, since I even tried to start it with cooler too
