As above,
With fx8150 cpu yesterday the pc had bsod says kernel security check failure.
Tried to reinstall the windows but no joy, then i noticed my mobo q code says ff onced i pressed the reset button. Been seached they said burnt caps or something but no no burning smell.
Tried all old tricks like taken the battery out for 30mins or an hour, put one ram on each slot but no joy. Any suggestions please. Thanks in advanced

Code FF just means fault found and could be many things. Are there any led lit up in the diagnostic area? How old is the PSU ?

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
What ram do you have in this system? Is this a new build that hasnt worked or an existing build that went bad?

You verified it was by taking the heatsink off and verifying it is via pin 1/notch to notch on zif socket?

The ram that came with that system, I would try in another board. Since it can power the gpu up, and display on the screen it seems the gpu is ok, so that is out of the question now. I would also run it with just the kb, ms, ram, gpu, os drive, nothing else too.

IF you're going to flash the BIOS use the BIOS dflashback feature. This bypasses all the HW, if something is wrong then it won't corrupt the bios. If you're almost making it to windows then I wouldn't be so sure it's the motherboard. Have you tried to start windows in safe mode or use a different HDD and install a fresh OS ?

Flash back bios 0901

Glad that helped, Id report that issue to Asus live chat and the fix was to flash an old bios. That tells me there is a glitch in the one you had when the problem occurred.

I'll chalk this up to coincidence but I have this exact board w/ and FX8350 and had the EXACT problem, and it started on May 9th. I received a Blue Screen with an FF code upon reboot and reset. I didn't have to rollback my firmware as I am not running the latest but after a cold boot I was able to start into windows. Once windows booted up I saw that a number of my applications were missing library locations (Steam, uPlay, Battle.net) it all seemed to point to an issue to my SSD drive. Drive was fine but I had to recreate and point to all installation folders.

Did you experience any of the lateral with applications?
