Hi, can somebody help me with a little issue I'm having with the above mentioned card, purchased the item from Ebay on 29th August 2019, installed it in a Ryzen build yesterday on a clean installation of Windows 10 64bit, updated PC, and then installed latest Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia site, rebooted back into Windows, and this is where the problems started, as you can see from the attached pics 1 and 2 the resolution is locked to 800x600 and GPU-Z gives info errors, thinking it might be a driver issue I turned off the PC and installed my older GPU a MSI GTX 760 which I was using before this purchase, restarted Windows 10 and as you can see from pic 3 all is good, no problems whatsoever, 4K resolution and GPU-Z is giving all info as it should, so I put back the problem card into the PC and its still the same issues as before, could the card be on its way out????

My PSU is a Corsair VS650 Watt.

There were some modded bioses though. At least thats what google tells me.

So it was working fine with drivers that win 10 installed? Did you try older drivers maybe?

yes I have a friend who edited his 1080s bios for mining not sure what he did and have lost touch with him now.

I really doubt that is the case, I am unaware of any modding tool for Pascal. I am not sure about Maxwell but for Pascal I am pretty sure of it.

I am unawear of whats happening in Sagittarius A but it don't mean it not happening :) im a astronomer but I don't know everything about space more I like know very little and I reserve the right to be wrong.

I have a Asus Prime X370 Pro Ryzen motherboard latest bios installed, latest chipset drivers installed, its all up to date, tried different PCIe 3.0 slot has the same issue, put back in my GTX 760 and the problem goes away, the 760 uses 8pin and 6pin connectors the 970 uses one 8pin connector, thought it might be a driver issue but my 760 is an older card and it uses the latest Nvidia drivers the 970 should also, the GPU-Z readout has my alarms tingling, that is not right is it????

Take pics of the card's white stickers on back of card, take pic of the heatsink, remove heatsink from card ,take pics of all ram chips and a close up of 1, post all pics here.

Remove the gpu drivers using ddu twice in windows once in safe mode

They were mainly to do with power limits and maybe some hashrate tweaks. Something just to make them run cooler so they could mine 24/7
