ASUS today rolled out the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Horus GK2000 RGB mechanical gaming keyboard. A revision of the Horus GK2000 the company launched back in early-2016 with red LED lighting, the Horus GK2000 RGB, as its name suggests, updates the original with RGB LED lighting. The lighting can be controlled by ASUS Aura Sync RGB software, with which you can set color, brightness, and lighting patterns for each individual key. The keyboard features Cherry MX RGB series switches, with 16.8 million-color RGB diodes. ASUS bumped up the keyboard's onboard storage to 8 MB, to locally store not just your macros, but also your lighting settings. Available now, the ASUS ROG Horus GK2000 RGB is expected to be priced at USD $199.

$200? I'm pretty sure many people don't pay that much for their CPUs.

Getting close but all I want is more programmable keys and a screen just like the Logitech G15 v1. Pls Logitech, can you just remake the perfect keyboard with mechanical keys...

I dont think we'll ever see a LCD screen on keyboard going in future. At first it did look like a gimmick but it was damn useful. That G15(v2) was the only Logitech product that served me reliably over years and still have it lying around.

what is it good for that lcd on keyboard ?
From someone who's had a G15 V1, G19 and currently a G19s I genuinely couldn't live without the LCD. I have AIDA 64 running on it basically I get 6 "blank pages" I can put anything AIDA can monitor on it however I want. Teamspeak uses it I can see all users, switch channels, admin functions etc. Back in the day I used it for FRAPS rather needing to use an overlay. Quite a few games use it some better than others

A bit of an older pic I've added a few more things but that is my Page 1, 2 is GPU stufff 3 is fans and voltages etc.

They can sell it for whatever they want (you're never wrong to go after those with more money than brains), but I was just saying, it's a freaking keyboard.

Well sometimes OSDs don't play nice with 3D apps especially when you start "stacking" them like Alfteburner with Steam/UPlay//Origin and Shadowplay overlays. Recently, I can't recall which game it was but it was crashing and actually telling me FRAPS was the cause I mean the big 3 now all have their own FPS counters and FRAPS is just too old so that's pretty much retired. I know for fact a close friend of mine got a VAC ban from using a 3rd party Teamsoeak overlay what was mistaken for a cheat.
I have 4 pages of monitoring stuff at the moment think about how much screen space that would take up and frankly I don't want my screen "crowded" with data when I'm trying to game. Think of Dooms telemetry on Full, it takes up a quarter of the screen almost. That pic is just my "summary\main" stuff like all 8 threads usage, my upload/download fan RPM I don't need to see all the time so that's page 3 and 4 and rarely used but just a button press away.

Logitech had built some useful functionality in that lcd, it would display media player playlists, show incoming messages (very useful in case you were in middle of game). Also there were some useful 3rd party programs like this one to check what you have copied into clipboard:

Yeah exactly I'm just covering my 3rd party usage, heck you can actually watch YouTube vids on it...

G19 had much nicer LCD panel compared to G15/G13. Those keyboards were certainly cream of the crop when they came out and if I remember correctly G19 was the most expensive keyboard when it came out. Those keyboards got good support from 3rd party developers, there was a whole forum dedicated to G Panel programs, not sure if it is still online or it has been shut down now.

Yeah I remember and used more than a few apps from there back in the G15 days . I spilled wine on my G19 hence buying the G19s. My regret was not buying 2 and putting one in the closet. Lastrecent game I played that made use of itwas Borederlands Pre-Sequel but then they've been using It throughout the entire series and well implemented. I never had to check how many Golden Keys I had it was right in front of me along with health and ammo etc. Most games that use it gave you great info like that or like for Teamspeak I can literally do admin stuff right there as far as even kicking and banning and well pretty much anything you would normally have to open the program to do iIta the reason I've kept my AIDA 64 subscription up to date since it was Everest.

Now of course it's all about linikiing an app to your phone(ARX I believe it's called)I've not actually tried it but to me while being "hip and now" with the app environment I think it's more hassle to do the same things with my phone

It's for info you would like to have available to you at a glance but would not like on screen 100% or have to alt-tab to get to, main reason I stopped using fraps.

I bought the keyboard (RGB version).
In the first day I found a bug in the software - if you change function on key ML with another M it will not work fine. I want to have the ML "down" and M1 first (up) key - it's faster to press the first macro, elseI have to always skip a macro key and count down from 0 (array programming joke).
Also the rest-pad it's not so well fitted - it move right-left 1-2 mm. At this price I was not expected so cheap joints.
Also at this price I'm surprised that I cannot choose the colors for wave in order to except the color('s) from static colored keys needed in game.
And again the rest-pad. At this price should be not plastic but rubberized.
And change key - come on, the F1-F12 are 99% useless. There were much more useful the game related keys - with different texture(!!!).
And the rise of keyboard. I would not ever understand why so few intelligent designers: the option for rising height should be on the bottom (towards the body) not on the top (towards the monitor) for improving hands comfort and in line with medical(!) recommendation.
