ASUS North America today announced the launch of the Pilot the Future program for the K-12 education-focused ASUS BR1100C laptop, which was recently announced at CES 2021. ASUS North America will be kicking off the Pilot the Future Campaign today to provide select K-12 schools in North America with the opportunity to receive a set of 30 ASUS BR1100C clamshell laptops, enough to equip a full class of students for learning remotely and in the classroom. To be considered for the ASUS BR1100 Pilot the Future program, school faculty can submit videos to share with ASUS how their school is preparing students for better collaboration in-person and remotely, as well as how the ASUS BR1100 laptops can help promote learning in their classroom.

From the batch of submissions, ASUS will select a number of schools to move onto the community voting round from March 5 through March 22, where schools with the most votes will be selected as a participant in the program. The Pilot the Future program starts today with initial school nominations through February 26 and concludes when the selected K-12 schools are announced on March 29.

The ASUS BR1100: Powerfully versatile and made for learning
The 11.6-inch ASUS BR1100 is the ultimate learning tool that offers comprehensive, education-centered features to boost the efficiency of both remote and classroom learning, and is available in both clamshell and convertible forms.

Kids are kids, so accidents will happen. That's why the BR1100 is engineered to survive falls of up to 47 inches, with a rugged design including an all-round rubber bumper, spill-resistant keyboard and a reinforced structure to withstand everyday knocks, bumps and spills. All this, plus the ability to pass multiple rigorous US military-grade tests, ensures that the BR1100 is built to last. Additional design features to accommodate the needs of young learners include an ASUS BacGuard antibacterial keyboard frame that adheres to ISO 22196 to inhibit the growth of bacteria by more than 99% over a 24-hour period, as well as a TÜV Rheinland-certified display for low blue-light emissions, helping protect eyes from potential harm.

In response to the audiovisual needs of remote classes, the AI-powered noise-canceling mic and speakers ensure crystal-clear audio for both the student and teacher, while innovative 3D noise-reduction (3DNR) technology on the webcam eliminates up to 94%2 of the background environmental noise. And, there's a physical webcam shield, so a child or parent can simply swipe it over the lens for instant peace of mind. Connectivity and capacity is also a must for students, so the BR1100 has the option of 4G LTE and Wi-Fi 63 for seamless access to online courses as well as up to 128 GB eMMC and 1TB SSD, so it's easy to expand if the onboard storage fills up, which is a rare benefit for entry-level education devices and perfect for large or growing collections of videos, images and school documents.

The BR1100 also features easy maintenance for both IT departments and educators. For easy on-site servicing, ASUS BR1100 has a modular construction that enables quick access to key components such as panel, keyboard, and battery for enhancing the efficiency of IT maintenance and minimizing downtime. A LED light on the lid enables educators to see at a glance if a particular student's laptop is facing connectivity issues or has less than 20% of battery life left - giving teachers a heads up when a student might need help.

The convertible model offers the option of a garaged stylus to help students get every detail just right when drawing, taking notes or marking up documents, with the ability to detect 4,096 levels of pressure. It's also quick to charge, with a 15-second stay in the garage providing enough capacitance for 45 minutes' use. The convertible includes a special world-facing camera, positioned just above the keyboard. This empowers students to explore and learn in totally new ways, allowing them to capture photos and videos in tablet mode.
