Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS

Anyone know if this board is fine to work with a 45nm core 2 quad (Q9450) ? the specs state ready for 45nm but makes no mention of the yorkfield cpu's but also searching google gives me mixed results :confused:

also would nforce be a bad idea to use with a ati card (not crossfire) but a single card?

You got the P5N32-E SLI PLUS the plus means that it works for 45nm. It's probably just a newer bios and some stuff thats been overlooked. You shouldn't worry.

But i know why you are confused. The P5N32-E SLI "non plus" came when QX6700 was kickass.

650i means no 45nm Core 2 Quad support.

The CPU support list can be found here.

The nVidia 600 series was physically incapable of supporting the 45nm Core 2 Quads in a stable manner, so support for them was never officially added. There is a very slim chance that it will work, I wouldn't waste the money to find out.

the CPU support list confirms my vague reccollections: these boards support 45nm dual core, and 65nm quad.

Stop your whining, it will work. P5N32-E SLI PLUS came with bios to support newer cpus and also got updated with better solid capacitors.

Some people even put the plus bios on the P5N32-E SLI.

yeah they are very specifically not mentioning anything past core 2 quads , and only officially support those three

the only ones supported are B3/G0 kentsfields, when it comes to quads.

Like i said, 65nm quad, 45nm dual

if you go here http://asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=kveVJLd8DpPGYsNj you will see that there is no official support for a single 45nm quad.

as Mussels said just 65nm C2D and C2Q and 45nm C2D

just buy another mobo
