So as per title I my laptop got BIOS dead, doesn't even show BIOS logo. Only fans and RGB works for 10-15 seconds after clicking on power button, then it reboots and same happens

Tried different recovery methods, but didn't work

Doesn't work:
Ctrl + Alt + Delete
Ctrl + Home
Power + R
Ctrl + R

Am I missing something? Can I recover BIOS in some other way? Help me please!

Try replacing the CMOS battery, not sure if it will fix your problem but it's a cheap solution.

There's no CMOS battery. Usual battery acts like CMOS. Tried removing battery, didn't help
How did it happen? Did you flash a wrong one? Computer not POSTing doesn't necessarily mean the BIOS is dead... can be anything.
I've been changing tertiary RAM timings, after I changed them and saved, BIOS gone dead

If CMOS reset doesn't work, try to remove/add the RAM modules. Make sure you taken the battery off for a long time and cut all power.

If after all attempts it still won't post, contact ASUS, check if the BIOS chip is replaceable, or maybe try to use SPI flash programmer like CH341A.

Seems like I would have to need to contact some local service center because I am not sure if I won't have problems with Intel ME and other stuff related to BIOS... :(

I doubt that as even majority of desktop motherboards have soldered chips these days, so it's more than unlikely that a laptop would have a socketed bios.

Try by disconnecting the battery, then hold the Power Button for more then a minute. Connect the battery back and hold again the PB. You'll see,the laptop will start, keep holding until it turns off.Once is off, release your finger from the PB and right after press it again, just like you normally do when you turning it on(just a short press). This in theory should reset your bios and the memory timings.

Just tried twice. Second time even removed one RAM stick. Still nothing changed, it didn't help. Any chances that disconnecting battery for whole night might help?

Is the rest soldered or does it have only one stick?

Take the both out just in case and put them back.
Done. Tried both, one by one, swapping them, didn't help. Even tried other RAM, no change

Noticed something. This thing (dunno what's that, maybe so called hub something..?) heats pretty much... Maybe it's dead or that's normal?

It's the chipset and it's normal that it gets warm/hot.

you will need a ch341a programmer to get the bios recovered. sense your in ukraine i have no idea if u can get ahold of that at the moment. if you manage to get ahold of one i can see if ill be able to help you out a bit. one last thing tho before buying a programmer, you need to locate the bios and see if its wson or sop style. if its wson you wont have any luck trying to use a clip.

Having this as a chip (W25Q80EWNIG) with BIOS I guess. Already took a look at specs of it and it seem to be SOP8.

But there's a question. This chip seem to have 8 MB of storage, but my BIOS dump I took when laptop was working is 12 MB... How's that possible? Did I misunderstood something?

upload the dump, its probably just padding. you will need a 1.8v adapter for the ch341a in order to flash that chip.

Will be I able to read and write BIOS with such kit? I guess yes, but I don't have much knowledge about using SPI programmer, so need some answers, because heard some rumors that doing so with clip may give unpredictable results unlike getting of the BIOS chip from the board and directly flashing to it on a programmer

so the dump is your bios, the chip that you are looking to flash is not. its only 1Mbyte. i believe that's the video bios. so you will need to locate another chip very similar to that one.

yes, disconnect the battery for 30minutes minimum. the bios dump looks fine. i cant even see where you made changes so it should be good to go. does your ram have xmp profiles? if you want i can set the bios to attempt to boot that first assuming the xmp profile for your memory worked on the laptop.

Can we contact each other in something like Telegram to find the chip together? If you can, contact me, link to my Telegram account is in my profile

Finally, I have fixed my laptop. Yes, it was a BIOS. The only problem I have is that I forgot to clean ME Region so having one issue right - slow boot process after post (~60 seconds). Anything else is good!

Update

Cleaned ME Region from dump, flashed again and no issues for now. :peace:

My problem was the dirty ME, which caused slow boot and Intel Display Audio drivers issues.

I used CSME Tools for HM470 chipset (what laptop basically has) and a guide how to clean ME region from BIOS dump. BIOS dump should be taken directly from BIOS flash, and not with tools like FPTW or anything to backup from system. Then just flashed directly to the BIOS flash a dump with clean ME and done, everything good
