Hi everyone,

I'm in need of assistance. My GPU, mentioned above, shuts down after a few hous of gameplay. The games I play are not very demanding, like Railroad Empire. The time it shuts itself down is random. It doesn't always happen. Sometimes I can play for a few consecutive days and everything is fine. Then next day 2h pass and the GPU shuts itself down, completely. It means black screen and GPU fans stop spinning. I turn the PC off and on and it won't boot. There are a few beeps and nothing. When I turn it on the next day it works fine.

Here are a few things worth mentioning:
- it's a used GPU used in mining (I was aware of that when I purchased it),
- had to flash proper bios from TPU for it to work,
- current PSU is bequiet! Pure Power 12M 650W,
- thermal paste changed,

Is there a way to check what could be the problem? I'm planing to replace it, but not now so I'd like it not to cause more trouble :|

Looks like heat issue. Did you try to put the fans on max whole time?

Thats always an incognito.... from a mining card and all the stress that she's suffered.
Repasted.... is the cooler surface doing the right surface IS contact? Why didn't you refer any temps?
It even could be a weak solder joint from the GPU IS or RAM ICs....

I have CPU temp monitoring, but forgot to do so with GPU. Have to check what those are during gaming.
I haven't tried setting the fans to full. They sound a bit tired so it's irritating then they go 100%. Think something can overheat?

Any OSD like MSI AB for ex or any app that can log it to a file on the background, HWInfo, LibreHardware, GPU-Z etc....
Damm it sir, are this kind of apps so "new" to you...
Even ASUS GPUTweak itself...

If you have weak solder joints, you will notice it when the system is hot and cold. When you put the fans on 100% it will take longer to crash.

I switched to Mint not long ago (the same thing happen under Win10). I know these apps, and to be honest, anything regarding changing OC parameters is new to me. Things break when I tinker with them so... you understand. I prefer to ask, even if I'll look like a fool :(
One attempt at tinkering with fans messed the settings so badly I was playing No Man's Sky without fans turned on on the GPU. You understand my reluctance.

Anyway, I had a game session today and kept monitoring GPU temps. At first it stabilised at 75°C, but after a while started to increase slowly to 76, 77. I use LACT so I set higher % of fan speed at 75°C and it didn't go beyond that. Didn't crash today either. Voltage was hoovering around 1V. So the card can heat up and at some point it can't handle it due to mining stress?

Not knowing what gaming session used, even so 75 is within working range, it can peak up to 80-85 and up 1,140v
Sorry... but it's a damm suffered mining card, i really don't know why people, even cheaper as they may appear, still buying this "POS" cards and favour "we know who"
Some may get lucky one a few situations but overall, it's always a good decision on recovering invested capital for..."we know who" and they're already payed itself...
We can't say the same to who buys them out... as you may be proof of it yourself, that's the only pure truth in this.
I'm not condemning anyone on this or their choices.
My POV only

It's always good to be told the truth I'll run it with higher fan speed for now as suggested and look for a new card. Hopefully RX7600 prices will drop soon.

PS.
I played Railroad Empire at 1080p. Don't remember other settings.

Replace your thermal pads and paste with ptm

I would not bother with PTM and pads. Sell that card as defective and buy another 570/580 since they are about 50$/Euros for the 4GB models.
