Hello there I am looking for a Durable "Server" spec board for a Ryzen 2 2600.
It will live in about 40 degrees C all the way to minus 10, and be on 24/7 for the entire life of the board.
Not very much used for heavy gaming or anything

I found this buddy:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/TUF-X470-PLUS-GAMING/

Nicely priced at 150-170$.

Anything that sticks out to you why this isn't a good purchase ? I would like to make sure
Thank you TPU

Honestly, those ASRock Taichi boards look like the best bet currently

I agree

After the 200s Asus TUF series they shifted to "TUF Gaming" with 300 & 400 on both sides Intel & AMD. What made them appealing was lost.

Even the AsRock Fatality looks good if your try'n to save money

Hmm looks like the Taichi also takes pride of its premium chokes and caps.... What is the expected cost of the taichi ?

TUF boards are gaming now? Not the military theme or grade anymore...

That is actually as a whole a mid grade board. The crosshair would be the best build model that is just a x470 pro or whatever in black.

I hate these new Sabertooth boards. The X99 Sabertooth was like really beefed up, extra plate, covers all over the place,, here they just stick a name on it and call it a day. That's just lazy ASUS.

TUF are shit now. Gaming brand only with low grade components.

Also I disagree with you on TUF X99, quite a shitty board as well. Lost a processor on this board potentially due to VRM problem. Not to mention they got rid of dual BIOS on TUF X99.

I would only recommend AsRock Taichi X470

I'd never consider any of these board mil-spec without the presence of ceramic components, glazing, and varying degrees of metal shielding.

I disagree. And agree. X99 Sabertooth had quite good design in terms of build. It was a hefty board with reinforcement plates, heatsinks, active fan cooling for VRM etc. But they had to screw something up with VRM coz mine got fried as well. I don't know what they did there...
