Nothing special, it should work. check that the xmp settings are set for you, in particular all the necessary voltages. Also, to exclude the memory controller, you must set gear4 mode. And update the bios

set to 2n its not ok?
Yes, set to 1:4. This easy way you won't overload the memory controller and check it

Your board is actually very good. It's just that the overclocking of the memory on the Intel is a bit)

I have some bad news. You are probably going to max out of at 7600-7800 if you are looking for stable memory. Another classic example of what the vendor says works and work actually works...

Only the Dark Hero or Z790 Apex can do 8000. There is also a chance on top of that you have a garbage IMC. It happens.

Now into the helpful part.

1:Make sure you have the ram in the correct slots.

2: use XMP II as XMP 1 and XMP Tweak don't use full XMP profile and the motherboard applies its own profile (kinda like a mini OC). At the bottom of the screen when you highlight it, the description shows up.

3: You will have to change SA, VDDQ_TX and CPU_VDD2 (IMC) voltages. 4-slot motherboards need a lot more voltage for the same frequency.

My friend. It is a total shit shoot. I have a Z790 Dark Hero.. Nope...
However what I did do is this which is arguably even better lol.
Overclocking 2x32 (64gb) DDR5 6000 to 7000 with CAS 30.

Don't forget to update to a newer BIOS because that motherboard came out before 24GB was released. It will show up, but lots of BSOD since the memory allocation is wrong. Though I don't think that is the only problem here.

That or 7200 CL32. Will need a fan though... People are not willing to do that these days.

I am people lol.
I guess it just depends on the person. But I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
