In response to the growing need for data protection, ATP Electronics, the global leader in specialized storage and memory solutions, has launched the SecurStor microSD cards - the latest in its line of secure NAND flash storage products for the Internet of Things (IoT), education, automotive, defense, aerospace and other applications requiring confidentiality and reliability.
"Removable storage media such as microSD cards provide great convenience and versatility for storing and transporting data. However, such convenience also exposes them to risks of unauthorized access," said Chris Lien, ATP Embedded Memory Business Unit Head. "In many instances, the boot image may be compromised, corrupting the operating system or rendering the system unusable. Malware may be introduced, or private information may be disclosed and used for damaging intents. Amidst such dangerous scenarios, we have made security a key priority for all ATP products."
Security Features
As part of the ATP SecurStor product suite, the microSD cards come with integrated features that safeguard data-at-rest as well as a wide range of optional custom features tailored to an application's individual requirements.
SecurBoot, for example, ensures the integrity and validity of the stored system's BIOS configuration, while SecurEncrypt protects the User Data area with hardware AES-256 XTS encryption, the highest level of hardware encryption without performance trade-off. Secure Erase deletes the AES key to prevent unauthorized retrieval or recovery of the user data. As a customization option on a per-project basis, these cards may be specially built to comply with specific sanitization standards, such as the US Air Force System Security Instruction (AFSSI) 5020.
Here are the security highlights of the ATP SecurStor microSD cards:
Product Highlights
ATP SecurStor microSD cards are available in multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash, in capacities of 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB. Memory cards with 8 GB capacity are officially recommended as boot device for the Raspberry Pi OS (formerly, Raspbian).
Platform/OS Support and Customization Options
ATP SecurStor microSD cards support:
ATP is fully capable of customizing security policies, as well as hardware, firmware, and software. For special requests, please contact the ATP sales representative in your area.
