Backlight on laptop not working

Personally, I would just order the inverter. If you are getting a picture but it is faded and not strong, the cable is doing its job. If the display were flickering or doing something goofy like that then replace the cable.

I would just order the inverter and yes with that website you should be able to return a part if it is DOA or not working right.

We use them alot for the DC Jacks that need to be soldered. You should be alright.

thanks for the reply and that all sounds like what I thought. I can definitely see an image its just not illuminated which is why I was confused as to why I would need that cable.

I had the same issue. Eventually I gave up on that. Use an external monitor when you get tired of this.

i was hoping to sell this laptop when it is fixed so i really hope i can get it fixed..

I would try some of your local computer shops they usually have a pile of broken laptops and parts laying through the back somewhere. They might have what you are looking for.
