mostly im curious on multi core use

I saw some sites for benches but so many I didnt know which to take

Pick a flavour of Cinebench, if you're wanting to compare an older CPU then I would say use R20

Anything in particular multi threaded you wish to test? A particular work load or just general use?

Blender CPU rendering is another one that scales very high up in terms of cores and sees generally fairly sane performance delineation between architecture improvements and core count.

It really isn’t. It’s fine for broadly assessing client task CPU performance, but it’s nigh on useless for anything beyond that and cannot properly test absolute peak MT performance. Workstation/Server CPUs routinely score lower MT scores there than desktop, which is silly. There’s a reason why most enthusiasts kinda disregard Geekbench.

Do note that any bench scores are really only of academic interest at best. They don’t really translate well to day to day usability and for many applications are misleading. Like the fact that, say, for gaming the 7800X3D will be noticeably faster than a 7950X (provided a GPU that can feed it enough frames), but will be significantly lower in any ST or MT bench based on scores. Or the Arrow Lake 285K that ON PAPER is the fastest MT and ST desktop chip if we go by CB, but we all know that wasn’t how it really panned out.
