Remember those Intel processors with lots of heat and leakage and whatever else nasty and not nice? Well, Intel has been working hard and has come through with what should make a lot of people happy - Penryn. Yes, Penryn.
Although it may sound like some new type of viagra pill, in reality it's Intel's new 45 nm architecture. To fully appreciate Penryn's low power consumption, just check out some of the numbers:
a Prescott in 45 nm = 25 to 30 watts of heat
a Pentium-M in 45 nm = 5 watts or less...
