ok i was just messing about and thought i wonder if my 1080 monitor could do a higher screen resolutions(just for laughs), so i try 2048*1080 @ 60hz boom that worked (wasnt just scaling)
Next i thought there is NO way my ancient monitor could display 4k.... well it does i've checked and double checked @60hz as well , im blown away
Proof below, dropped a few frames but im really surprised about this, will this f**k my monitor up ?

Your monitor is still 1920x1080 pixels. You can use Super Sampling(DSR) in desktop too not just in games, as you just found out :)
its not at 1080 mate..... i have eyes ,lol (as you can see from these shots no DSR(as you state) and no Scaling)
Now im confused(is there a way to definitively know?)
