Title says it all. Mostly.
I am downgrading. I use my mega monster tower for gaming and streaming. Gaming has gotten repetitive and boring.
I need a laptop that can handle streaming something mid priced, ok maybe less than mid.
It doesn't have to have great sound, it doesn't need to be 4k or 8k or anything super spectacular. It has to be able to send a feed to a 40" set and actually stream, not buffer endlessly.
Youtube, netflix, discovery, science, typical tv station stuff. I am moving from a 4 bedroom house into an rv so space is at a premium.
Who has what and what did you pay for it? Sorry if this is in the wrong place. There doesn't seem to be a laptop forum, but since it is a streaming question, I am hoping someone has good advice. Been looking at reviews. $2200 for the apple something is more than I want to spend.

Your going to have to be more specific here because you start of talking about streaming which generally mean you sharing/streaming whatever you now do with someone else online, for example, on twitch.
Then you mention netflix and youtube etc. Which would be watching streaming video, or simply playback of video on demand.

If it is the latter you want to do, then what you need is basically a toaster.

The toasters I have tried it on don't work for shit which is why I am asking.
I didn't realize streaming was something other than watching stuff on the internet whether you tube and discovery channel or just tv and movies in general.
Outstanding! Thanks for making me feel old for not knowing the difference.
I have tried on a couple different laptops both hard lined and got sound and maybe 1 frame every 90 seconds.
I don't want or need 90 FPS, but something actually usable shouldn't be terribly hard to find. A newer laptop ought to do what I want it to. Just wondered if anyone had a particularly wonderful experience using something and what it ran them in cost.
There are literally 14 jillion laptops on newegg.
Wallyworld (Walmart) has several hundred on line.
I would hate to cheap out and get something I don't like as much as I would hate to spend a dime more than I have to.
Screen size isn't terribly important, but obviously the bigger the better, or at least one that can run a bigger 40"+ screen.
