I'm a little confused on this. Literally all I did was move into a new home. I hooked up my system and plugged everything in and the only thing that is not working are my speakers. I thought maybe my altec lansing speakers I had for about 16 years finally went out so I bought a logitec system and still same problem. I can't even find it in my devices on control panel or in my realtek audio manager. Any ideas? I have been told it may be my windows 10 that screwed with it but I don't think so. I had it before I moved and everything was working just fine. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

First up make sure you can see your soundcard in device manager.

Second: Make sure its plugged in to the correct port.

Thrid: reinstall your device drivers

I'm not using a sound card using on board sound. My motherboard is a gigabyte GA-Z87X UD4H. has realtek chipset ALC898 channel 7.1

Next time, before you go buying new set of speakers, plug them to a phone or MP3 player and see if they make any noise. It's the easiest way to exclude speakers from the list iof "problems".

Check the port if it's correct one as well as check the primary audio device if it's set as default playback. Things tend to go weird lately because monitors tend to be detected as audio device due to DisplayPort/HDMI cables and countless audio passthroughs available on graphic cards.

If you're using front panel jacks for your speaker, be sure that the move didn't cause the connector for those jacks to work loose. Also, make sure that nothing is plugged into a jack that gets higher priority (e.g.: stand mic plugged into headphone jack instead of mic jack. This will make lots of things not work all at once).
