Hello. I have an XFX RX 560 4GB card I want to try and use as a Hackintosh. it's well-known in the community that most XFX cards cannot be used out of the box due to XFX ROMs. However, I would like to flash mine to a Sapphire-based ROM. The problem is that with every attempt to run "atiflash -i" "I get the response "Adapter not found".
Board: Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3. I'm running a UEFI instead of the traditional DOS-based BIOS interface. Under Peripherals I have "Init Display First" set to PEG (PCI Graphics) with the other options being Auto, IGFX, and PCI. My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 930b with DVI and VGA inputs. My motherboard has only an HDMI port for video. So far I can have the monitor hooked up to the RX 560 and get video, but of course I get "adapter not found". Now my mobo also has a x4 PCIe slot which I have tried, but I also get the same result.
Thinking that perhaps the card must not have any connections to be flashed, I changed the UEFI to use the on-board video instead (and have the HDMI port occupied by an HDMI-to-DVI cable which goes to my monitor). I can get graphics that way to get to the FreeDOS screen, but again when I try "atiflash -i" I get "Adapter not found". Why is it so difficult to even get the motherboard to see the card, even when the card is plugged in to the PCIe slot and I can see graphics using the same card? I have another board, a gigabyte H270M-D3H that uses a Sapphire RX580 Nitro+, but I shouldn't have to change boards. Am I doing something obviously wrong or missing a step?
