Capture card with no input delay?

Hello
i have a Laptop (Thinkpad e14 Gen 4) with Usb 3.2 and tunderbolt 4
I wanted to get Playable footage from a ps4 to my laptops screen for reasons of now access to monitors for a while
im pretty sure ive heard that capture cards have to much input delay to play on?

I am pretty sure any capture card is going to have a noticeable input delay.

Well, a quick search seems to indicate you can expect about 2-10 frames delay at 60 fps input rate, with a usb capture card.

Not that I know of, the only way to get no delay is if you use the capture card to passthrough the video signal to another display which is obviously of no use to you.

blackmagic design. expensive because it is pro/broadcast. (as in avid or grass valley pro)

but they cost so much it would cheaper to just get a monitor…

I get it, you want to pretend you are working (on your laptop) but are actually playing games (on your PS4). Or you are at college and you have a PS4 but no TV, only a laptop.

It's probably cheaper to buy/borrow a cheap screen than to get a decent capture card that would be useful for your described purpose. If you want to live-stream, that's a different issue. But if you just want to play games you might do better trying out a PS4 emulator - and learn something while you do it.

They all have, the hd60x i currently use has very little tho, it's almost playable.

hmm ive experience with videohubs from work, 20/40 variants and they do add some delay actually, not sure if it's more due to the hub or the sdi converters tho.

These still have a delay. I just use a splitter to the TV so that the black magic card connected to OBS isn't affecting my gaming.

Yeah its for a few weeks no acess to my dkestop and moiniter
im slightly confused by blackmagic stuff
