i have a few ch341a black programmer. Now i bought a green ch341a 1.7 just because it can do multi voltage settings.
That 1.7 not detecting anything.
I tried all of the programs that in the first post.
Current programmer: CH341
ID(9F): 000000(Unknown)
ID(90): 0000(Unknown)
ID(AB): 00(Unknown)
ID(15): 0000(Unknown)

the green light is on, even there is no chip in the socket

my other older black works fine, but i dont want to kill the 3.3v spi chips.

jumper is on the 1-2 prog mode. voltage at 3.3v

Benchmark Scores I dont have time for that.
It isn’t going to detect a 3.3v chip if you have it on 1.7v. Are you saying it isn’t detected by the PC? If that’s the case download a newer version of ASProgrammer and install the device driver again. It’s possible you are using an older version.

Might be a good idea to try a different usb port and without the extension in the picture as well.

It is set at 3.3v by default but still not working at 5v. It is detected by all writers but can detect any SPI flash chips.
1.7 is the version of the ch314a not the voltage.
Tried:
AsProgrammer_2.1.2
NeoProgrammer V2.2.0.10
SiberiaProg CH341A v1.45
Tried on windows7 32bit on IBM T50, windows 10 on a ROG notebook, windows 11 on my main system, different drivers thats from the programmers folder. usb3, usb2, usbhub with and without extra cable. Different clips, different SPI-s.
That means the reader is faulty or it needs special software.
Now im installing linux on my old IBM T61.

Are you certain you are selecting the proper chips from the list? The only device iv ever had work fine with auto detect are flashcats. I have always specified the chip model or a variation of it using the CH341.

That said, iv never had a problem. Given how cheap they are perhaps the one you received is faulty.

It is the version to get if you dont want to destroy chips though. If I remember right your pretty handy. If its not worth it to return or replace and you already have the old version you can modify them to properly supply voltage, though at that point you will need a step down board if you want to pursue anything below 3.3v like the newer 1.8's.

All of my cheap ch341 blacks can detect the chip type or at least the brand.
the cheap 5v blacks are 5 USD, this greeen v1.7 was 25 USD
the v1.7 is not detect anything.

I started the rma and do the 3.3v hack on one of my old black writer.

the black detects it.

On linux, the v1.7 reader detects the chip finally.

but can't read it well, just corrupted data.

corrupted.JPG

so the reader is faulty...
