All,

I'm trying to install OS X Snow Leopard or Lion on my new PC build. Regrefully, I didn't research the graphic card and I know the Sapphire Radeon 6770 will not work on my build. I've read that if I change the device ID to the 5770 that it will work, so I want to attempt that.

I'd rather not go through the trouble of returning and buying the 5770 if it isn't an complicated process.

I can't find anywhere how to do that, I've looked for at least 24 hours. I don't want to do any other BIOS changes. Just change the device ID only. How do I do that?

Here are my build specs:

it looks like rbe has a simple method for changing it:

under sub vendor id/ video card id -> video card.

there's not as many steps as you think. most are exclusive.

1) 2.3 (get your current bios, back it up.)
2) 3.1 (then open it in RBE)
3) 3.2 (then change the "video card" dropdown. i think subvendor should stay)
4) 3.8 (save it)
5) 4 (flash it)

if only everything else was so easy :) MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR BIOS
