In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Command & Conquer, Electronic Arts Inc. today announced that the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is now available worldwide on PC via Origin and Steam, and as part of an Origin Access Premier subscription. Developed as a labor of love between EA and some of the original Westwood Studios team members at Petroglyph, the Remastered Collection is comprised of Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn, Command & Conquer: Red Alert and their three expansion packs - Covert Ops, Counterstrike and The Aftermath. Veteran fans and those new to the franchise can now experience one of the most beloved real-time strategy games in history with native 4K support, rebuilt multiplayer, enhanced UI, a seven hour remastered soundtrack by Frank Klepacki, modding support and much more.

Built with the community in mind from day-one, an active Community Council has been involved since early pre-production with 24/7 access to the teams at EA and Petroglyph to provide feedback during development. This feedback has helped shape features such as a revamped UI, updated controls, a Map Editor, and a modernized online multiplayer experience, featuring custom games, 1v1 quick match, Elo-based matchmaking, leaderboards, replays and much more.

"Our top priority when developing the Remastered Collection was to make sure the heart of Command & Conquer can be felt from the second you boot up the game," said Jim Vessella, Lead Producer at EA. "We've been working hand-in-hand with the Westwood veterans at Petroglyph to ensure the iconic gameplay remains authentic while adding key features for a modern experience. We could not be more grateful for the C&C community's support during this journey, and especially the feedback from our Community Council which has been integral in bringing this love-letter to life."

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection features rebuilt graphics and textures from Lemon Sky Studios with native 4K support. Frank Klepacki, the composer from the original C&C titles, has remastered seven hours of music for the project, which includes over 20 tracks re-recorded with The Tiberian Sons. In addition, Command & Conquer is now one of the first ever major RTS franchises to open source their source code under the GPL. Earlier this week the TiberianDawn.dll and RedAlert.dll and their corresponding source code was released under the GPL version 3.0 license, which will unlock powerful mod support for the Remastered Collection and community projects for years to come.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is rated Teen by the ESRB and is available worldwide on Steam and Origin for PC for $19.99 USD. Origin Access Premier members will also get full access to the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection on PC today for as long as they are subscribed. Origin Access Basic members receive 10% off the full game. For more details, visit origin.com/origin-access.

I am also hoping to have general remastered, in particular, the old version is bugged and often crashed on my when doing 4vs4 skirmish.

Ahh, the red alert on ps1 was the deal breaker :). Cool, that they remastered. But 20 euros for upscaled game...

Bit unfair to say it is straightly up-scaled, all game units graphics are actually redrawn based on the origin figure, and this interestingly revealed lots of items that I mistook for 20 years.
Also, while not a lot, there are some improvement to make the control interface better, like queuing and right click execution.

Though, lots more things were missed and imho should be included, like modes of attack/defense/stay etc, and maybe waypoints.

Refunded it due to fake 16:10 Aspect Ratio, it has black bars top and bottom.

I'll just play the CNCNet versions and nearest neighbour 640x400 to 1920x1200.

Fuck EA.

I'm using a 4k monitor 16:9, 3840x2160 and it plays nicely without black bar. The first GDI mission is crap but after that you can truly see how good this remake really is.

I'm at moment on gdi mission 11 on hard and playing with the objective of no causalties on every mission and it has been very hard so far.

They weren't missed, the community didn't want them, the game was always intended to feel like a 95 rts, the community wanted CnC to stay the same, even the ai is unchanged. It took CnC95 and RA95 and made them playable on Windows 10 with enhanced graphics and restored multiplayer. It also has remasters of the original awesome music. But the goal was never to add modern rts design to it.

If anyone wants generals then buy this, EA already told every if this sells well they will remaster more.

That's because the game is forced 16:9 aspect ratio, so ofcourse you're not going to see black bars with a 16:9 monitor.

Developers are goddamn lazy these days.

It was brought to you but the guys who originally made the game, petroglyph is the former Westwood employees. I'm sure if you ask support can be added easily for native 16x10. I'm happy these games work right on Windows 10 now, and I'm happy that they did it faithfully.

same here. Although I swore I'd never preorder a game again (especially an EA title), I jumped on it when ti was confirmed that they brought Petroglyph in and that it will be community driven. Love the game, worth every penny.

agreed, I have not and wont pre order games, but I could resist this because I knew if it was as good as it was so long ago and just remastered to work on todays hardware properly, then it was worth it, and it was so much more than that, so I am real happy.

Best part is the cnc ai can still be defeated with sandbags, the tiberian dawn not red alert, you can box in their base with dand bags and because the ai views walls as neutral they won't attack it, they will only damage it if a unit or structure is on the other side of it in firing range. I'm so glad they kept this bug
