I wanted to play/purchase COH3 when it was first released a couple of years ago. However reviews mostly all said it was trash. I have played COH and COH2 for hundreds and hundreds of hours. Fast forward to this weekend and I see they have some big 2.0 patch out and reviews seem improved but others saying it is mostly pay to win DLC. This is a free weekend to play so no risk as a Linux gamer. I install and fire it up and everything plays great for the first mission. (COH2 supports SteamOS while COH3 does not so I was surprised how everything was playing well in COH3.) Anyway, I complete the first "mission" and suddenly I am dumped into this Civilization 5 looking game where I have to move my units around like some discount 4X title. Is COH3 actually RTS or is some terrible combination of too much story telling and too much point and click?
