I've gotten them to work before in raid, recently i formatted my drives and i had set the bios to 'defaults'. Well, the drives are formatted... I can go to bios and my hds appear, I go to enable raid and save the settings only to returm to bios and see they're gone. And when I hit F10 to go into the raid setup, it shows both of them but they are in red highlight.

Ive been messing around in the settings see if i turned anything on last time but have had no luck. I've got a feeling its something simple I'm just not seeing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your right it is something simple, go into the raid bios (F10) screen and select the clear disk or clear data option in the raid bios then re-create a raid array, the reason it shows up in red is because the raid controller detects the drives but not the raid array that was deleted during format, the next time your going to format try doing it during the windows setup after you have installed the raid driver by pressing F6, then you can format or create partitions on the raid array without having to disable it to format the drives.

If the RAID BIOS sees them I think you need to create a logical drive first before the BIOS sees it/them. Can't say why they show in red though, don't know your particular controller.

They're still showing red when I set up the array. It all started when i originally installed Vista on my computer. I didnt realize there was a format option when installing (as you can tell i dont know much about pcs) so it compressed my old Windows and put it in 'Windows.old' folder. Well i was having troubles with a game and i suspected something was still in the registery of my old windows. So I used Killdisk to format the drives and for some reason reset defaults in bios. Now it just wont let me set raid. Thank you for the pointers about f6 tho, will keep that in my newb head. Heres a couple pics to show.

The red simply is the selected drive? Should add it to an array using enter and it'll go to the right box.
