Connect old hd (hard drive) to new SATA motherboard

Define "OLD" please....
If you are referring to an "ATA" or "IDE"drive, then yes there are convertor boards made to attached them to SATA-equipped mobo's....
I can't tell what is on the other side of that board you showed, but it appears it may be just what you need....

For the sake of just saying it I will suggest to get one that's bi-directional, in that it can be used either way, SATA to IDE or IDE to SATA.
If you ever have to do a setup that's opposite to the one you're wanting to do now you'll be able to and doesn't cost much if any real amount more to get one that can do it.
I will also caution you with these adapters they work fine with a HDD but don't always work with a CD/DVD drive, that how it's been with the ones I have. Could be simply due to the particular adapters I have but don't be suprised if this happens with what you get.

Looks like it could work, however the convertor is likely to cost more than the old HDD is worth?
