I rant GPU-Z on this thing and it said the memory type was "GDDR5 (Samsung); but, the actual brand on the card is "ELPIDA." Is the BIOS flashed to give fake info and is this a fake??

Take the heatsink off and take photos GPU die and the memory chips around it.

GPU manufacturers sometimes mix memory chips from different companies.

So far it looks legitimate to me

EDIT: Here's an extremely similar card.

It seems both legit and fake. GTX 750's are supposed to have GM107 cores. But you have 4GB of VRAM instead of the standard 1GB of VRAM on GTX 750's though.
So 50/50?

Does it work normally?

This is the replacement from CORN. The HDMI on the first one I got died after just over 2 months of use. This one (replacement for 5 days) works; but, since the BIOS is giving false information, it's a bit worrisome. The manufacturer seems to be engaging in fraud. Should I just send it back and ask for a refund? I got it from Newegg. Thanks!!

Yep, it's a real GTX 750. I think the 4GB variant is pretty rare, but it does exist.

It's weird that GPU-Z reports Samsung memory when the card has Elpida. @W1zzard, care to chime in on this? I know that GPU BIOSes can support memory from many different sources.

I couldn't find a BIOS for this card in the DB; @Hulk_Bx would you be able to submit it via GPU-Z?

Found the datasheet for the memory chips.

The card has eight 4Gb GDDR5 memory chips (two are hidden under the sticker), for a total of 32Gb of Vram, or 4GB. So the amount of memory is correct.

1DVI 1 VGA right?
The OP's card has one DVI, one HDMI, and a removable VGA port. That's a pretty standard layout for half-height GPUs.

It's a full-sized HDMI. Most of the half-height cards I own use that exact layout.

The main exceptions are my Quadro 600s and my Radeon HD 7750, The Quadros have a DVI and a full-sized DP; no VGA. The Radeon has two full-size HDMIs and a mini DP.

I too prefer DP over all others. I hate HDMI for its ubiquity when DP is superior and VGA for just not dying.

Interesting enough the 2 bios that match his bios version have mini hdmi so it seems a different bios version would need to be used.

I wouldn't think that would matter. Mini HDMI has the exact same pins as full-size; they're just arranged differently.

Well there is a risk of the port to stop working. Is why I ask. I will be giving out the bios but I would like for the OP to get a link to the bios that is currently on the card for comparison

I just looked up his Device ID 10DE 1381 and Subsystem ID 10DE 1073 and only 1G and 2G 750s appear.

Thanks!!

Can you please re-open GPU-Z and click the black arrow next to the white UEFI checkbox please?
Then attempt to upload the bios through GPU-Z to the VGA Bios Collection/database.
You may be prompted that the bios is already in the database with a link.
Please copy and paste that link here, I need to do some file comparisons

I know it's not a fake card but the oem did appear to mod a newer bios version

The RAM manufacturer is just identified wrong, that happens sometimes. The card looks to be 100% legit IMO.

Only way to know is when the op reappears and reloads gpu-z, if the bios even states Samsung, Micron Hynix, Elpida Qimonda. Sometimes GPU drivers are skewed too.

Good question, could be modded VBIOS, or simply using the Samsung VBIOS on Elpida (which often works), or using the wrong resistor strap setting on the board by accident (or intentional).

My thoughts exactly

It's why I want to verify exactly what bios @Hulk_Bx is using, so details can be compared to other bios here

@sam_86314 is that a mini hdmi or full? I dont deal with hdmi as I prefer dp lol
It is a full-HDMI. Thanks.

Just uploaded. Below is the link.

THANKS!!

Your concern is correct. The HDMI did stop working. They sent me the replacement -- which is the one I just uploaded the BIOS from. THANKS!!

Yes; but, the card is a replacement they sent due to a failed HDMI output. eidairman 1 mentioned that this could cause an HDMI failure; and, from what I've experienced so far, the concern is legitimate. Thanks.

Your current bios shows mini hdmi which i believe is incorrect for your card.

Your bios you just uploaded is the same as the nvidia labeled one here.
