edit: already own 3 of them one in each build but i just want to see how they perform against other coolers that cost more than double the price like this one.

There are two easy answers.

1. Dont buy a corsair product

2. Judging by the pictures the pump is still powered by a pin fan header. simply dont plug in all the RGB stuff and use the motherboard bios to control the pump speed or run with fans that dont require icue software to control lighting.

@Mussels has already gone with option 1 and boycott corsair

If it works anything like my H100i Platinum, you can't do that. The pump is powered by sata, and the fan header only has the tach line wired in to feed the motherboard with BS data and prevent it from whining for a missing CPU cooler. Your pump always runs at max speed without software control. You can control the fans via PWM, though - if you don't mind the bazillion unused RGB cables hanging everywhere.

It is, but new NOCTUA NH-U12A is better than all beastly 2 tower and fat tower air coolers according to this test.

You could just pick up the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 for half the price. No RGB tat and no iCue, but solid cooling performance and quiet.
