Could anyone who tested/tried SYY157 feedback on how fast it dries up?

Would appreciate your input,

In 1-2 weeks I should get both SYY and Iceberg Thermal FUZEIce Plus both on its way from US. I want to make best decision which one to go with for my ASUS G513QY laptop to replace the current gelid gc extreme paste that computer lab applied for me and it doesnt do well, in fact when I applied 2 weeks before computer lab attempt,. temps were better with same gelid paste, but I want try SYY due to multiple good reports how it does on laptops and how well it perform compared to TFX. However - two redditors said, SYY dried up on them in 2-3 weeks, so I want understand if those been isolated cases of bad batch? or a general issue with SYY? Should I use Iceberg Thermal FUZEIce Plus instead? or give Gelid another try?

Old photo from the laptop board:

P.S. I took off the kaptone yellow tape already, as it did pealed out a bit so decided peal it off completely on both dies. It was protection for LM which I no longer use.

Thank you!

Is there a reason you're PM'ing me on every forum in existence asking the EXACT SAME THING you've been spamming on multiple forums for weeks, even after someone replies, it still isn't good enough for you?

You're even stalking me on reddit, LTT and everywhere else. All your questions have been answered by multiple people and clearly, if no one else responds, it means 1) the question has been answered, 2) buy the damn paste YOURSELF and test it yourself. 3) what makes you think I have SYY on a laptop? I have liquid metal on my BGA throttlebook. I've only used SYY on GPU's.
There's a reason I am *intentionally* ignoring you. No I am not answering your question. Learn to use search.

Keep it up and you go on block.

Go buy the paste yourself and report your results and stop having everyone else do the dirty work for you.

Mmm-eh, I accidently cross contacted you here and reddit, didn't see its same person. I do online research by asking people based on their use cases, I dont see much bad about it. If I tried something I would be happy to share to others my experience before they take time to do it and step on the same errors.

You used it on GPU, I want use it on laptop, if you think paste can act differently (dry etc..) on GPU versus how it would potentially do on laptop, you can share this thought, I would not bother you again intentionally. If you prefer ignore me --intentionally-- fine, It is your decision, choice of freedom being an individual person in this planet.

@ryzenmaster Stick to one thread, please. It may very well be informative/useful to others, but nobody wants to see it plastered all over the place.

This is what, the 4th thread that you've created/posted in asking basically the same thing, about repasting your laptop with SYY? I understand that you want a definitive answer, but if no one's biting, then spamming more of the same thing isn't going to get you what you want.

As to the topic itself, there's not too much that's different between laptop and desktop GPU application - the issue is that laptops are horrible when it comes to mounting pressure and consistent contact. So unless those "redditors" that reported SYY "drying up" are using the exact same laptop as you are, it doesn't mean much. SYY is already viscous and "dry", it doesn't change that much.

If your temps are good on GC Extreme and there seem to be no adverse changes over time, I'd advise you to just stick with it.

I appreciate your response, really do. I will stick to one thread.

So to get my mind up with bit more clarity, if you may, when saying SYY is already viscous/"dry", it means it should be in 2-3 weeks same as it was day one, as i understand from you.. I wonder why these people reported that in 2 weeks it became worst, and how much chances, it was isolated to their paste batch.

I get the feeling that these user reports of SYY "drying up" over time are only because they went back to repaste their laptop again, and found that the SYY residue looked like it was hardened to a solid and difficult to clean up. As far as I can tell, it's just what SYY normally looks like when you go to clean it off - it's annoying to spread and also annoying to clean. Runny pastes like MX-4 and NT-H2 can be wiped off with dry towel, but SYY wants a lot of isopropyl alcohol.

As I recall they said performance dropped 2-3 weeks later which is why they re-opened and found it dried up. Perhaps - bad batch or something else on their end.

I use methanol 95% alcohol, its fine? I will use it to clean current GC Extreme before I apply SYY.
Also, I am planning boil water, put some in a cup, let SYY sit there 2-3 minutes and then use it, so it isnt so hard to spread.
As GPU and CPU (Ryzen 5900HX / RX6800M) die sizes are different, any particular spreading approach per each that you may suggest?

Mine doesn't have the white barriers around the dies, I removed those when I stopped using LM.
