I want to go back to air cooling. I am not sure what to get, I want to move a lot of air with low noise in a full tower case. Thinking Zalman but not sure what one to get.....looking for around $50-$60.

I'm having the same idea, I'm most probably getting a Megahalems. Is a bit on the expensive site, may barely fit into your budget... but the performance speaks for itself.

Of course, Xigmateks and TRUEs are still top dogs, too.

Read all the reviews on the new Noctua Nh-d14 cooler-everything is in the box, fans, tim, fittings for amd and intel it is awesome.
It IS big- you can checkout with Nocta if it will fit your case, there is also a motherboard check list on their site too.
Just did all this and went and bought one.
It initially looks expensive but if you break the cost down and exclude that cost from the initial purchase price it is very very reasonable.
megalhalems etc dont inc.fans
You aso get a hell of a warranty

Or you could get the scyhte mugen 2, its cheap, $40. Or check the Xigmatek Dark knight or the thor's hammer, its cheap also. Noctua's are bad ass, but they cost a lot too.

Thors Hammer is a bit overpriced imho for the performance it delivers. Its huge, its massive, its heavy but its not that huge massive better than say the S1283.

ZeroTherm Nirvana. Zalman CNPS9900 or Zalman FLEX with a Coolermaster R4 Fan.

ST

The Nirvana is not that good , i was pleased when i purchased it , but in time i realized that there are cheaper coolers that outperform this one . The only thing that keeps it on top of my cpu is the fact it's really sexy looking :D

MUGEN II is really good , but it`s kinda massive . Megahalems is perfect but a little pricey .
The only thing i can recommend you is to stay away from Zalman If you plan on massive overclocking . The only cooler that would do it`s job would be the Zalman CNPS10X , but again it's overpriced .

ThermoLab BARAM maybe ?

Yeah but its quiet as all hell. Mine cools a 965BE :) And I wouldn't change it for the world.
Besides their contact surface and how well its machined sells me everytime.

I got a Xigmatek Red Scorpion for my younger brother. It's not too big, has a 120mm white LED black/orange fan, 3 direct-touch 8mm heatpipes, and is easy to mount. It's also cheaper than Dark Knight.

Yeah, that thing is a beast. I had to remove the rear fan, it didn't push enough air and literally blocked the Zalman  Fell by 2 degrees Celsius when I removed it.

I love the way it complements the components

Right now IMO, the Baram and the TRUE are the best in what you get with air cooling.

If money isn't an object, I'd go for an IFX-14 or that new Noctua one with 140mm fan (if the Noctua one isn't too big). Those super-coolers perform so well even with just one fan at absolute silence.

If bang for buck is a priority at all, you really can't beat the Xigmatek S1283.

I think that the Xig Dark Knight has performed extremely well on my OCed i7. @ 3.51ghz with HT on, the DK keeps it under 56C 80% of the time, and never over 60C yet (thats 100% load WCG).

You should try the Thermalright Venomous X, it's supposedly very good, NH-D14 good.

For budget - Mugen 2 or Hyper 212 or hdt-1283.
For best - Megahalems, that new Noctua, or Venomous X.
