Card came in for repair with only information that it artifacts as soon as it loads into desktop. Passed all memory tests and all voltages and resistances. Then when under closer inspection I found this:

You would think the customer would admit right after putting the waterblock on the issues started. If it worked for a while, it's probably bad memory.

I suspect memory issues as well. But a cracked GPU core like this here is a goner. I've dealt with this before and only thing that fixes it is a new core. But the repair cost is not worth it for this 2080 Super.

Sometimes you can get away with it in that area. I have a GPU here with a much longer crack near the middle of the die, but I expect at some point with heat cycles It will go in a terrible way. Anyway continue the repair, a fault like that does not always say it's the die. It may just need re-balling somewhere as the mounting pressure was to high.

You can not rule anything out until it is confirmed the die is faulty. So I would re-ball the die & possibly a few memory chips (if needed) as the PCB must have been flexing/bending to cause a crack.

Customer wont pay for all this. It is a doner card now on my shelf.
