Delid i7-7740x - SUCCESS

Hello everyone I'm here to share my delid success!
It costed me around £33~ after postage for *everything* including the delid tool, see bottom for everything I used.
Before delid:
1 cinebench r15 run
Min:
Core #0 = 38c
Core #1 = 37c
Core #2 = 39c
Core #3 = 37c
Max:
Core #0 = 100c
Core #1 = 62c
Core #2 = 100c
Core #3 = 63c

After delid:
1 cinebench r15 run
Min:
Core #0 = 29c
Core #1 = 30c
Core #2 = 31c
Core #3 = 30c
Max:
Core #0 = 67c
Core #1 = 68c
Core #2 = 62c
Core #3 = 67c

So overall it went excellently, very happy now my cpu doesn't thermal throttle anymore.

Delid tool ("cpu cap opener") for skylake-x + kaby lake-x £16.49 posted.
Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut £9.49 posted

The motherboard I used was a x299 gaming pro carbon - the 7740x was £125 posted from cex with 2 years warranty (no warranty anymore lol)

Nice to hear that.Beast for gaming, even more so if you can hit +5Ghz and pair it with super fast ddr4.

Definitely since these cpus do well at overclocking apparently, I've been using the ddr4 from my 6600k system for now till memory prices fall.

I'd better get overclocking - I'm yet to push it to 5ghz and beyond, I will come back here tomorrow to check any responses.
