Hello guys, i want to delid my 7800X3D. Until know it was cooled by a Arctic LF3. Now i m considering the cooling solution:

- Using a Thermal Grizzly High Performance Heatspreader together with the LF3 cooler

In that case the surface of the Heatspreader is approx 2 mm lower than the surface of the original heatspreader of 7800x3d.

Has anybody made any expirience with the TG Heatspreader (or direct die) and the LF3 from Arctic and can tell me if it causes any issues or problems when i try to mount the LF3 on a lower surfacepoint?

Waste of time and money. 7800X3D is already so easy to cool and it can't be overclocked either .

LF3 is total overkill but it's entirely up to you

I built my mate a 7800x3d and slapped on a 50-60USD 360 AIO which should be all it would ever need in it's life cycle.

I mean yes. Yes you can but it's a complete waste of money when a $30 thermalright hyper 212 clone can cool to the same level before the deliding.

If you PBO like most of us you'll be running at it's max boost anyway. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to keep a 7800X3D cool.

By all means do it if you want to. Id personally rather save my time and money.

+1

The 7800x3d is kind of like an AK-47 of chips -- it's real $/performance value comes into focus when you do the minimum amount of fafo/effort and just slap it in on a B650 and let it rip.

Once you start adding delids and coolers and fancy motherboards, you're really getting maybe 5-10% more out of it for 2x the money.
