Dell has announced that it has released a new version of its UltraSharp 3007WFP monitor that comes with a slightly up-rated feature set.
Dell boasts that the new 3007WFP-HC features "92 percent colour gamut" - an enhancement that Dell claims to "deliver the latest in dynamic colour technology to make colours richer and more realistic for a dramatic gaming experience".
The monitor achieves this using what Dell calls a wide CCFL backlight, which is said to improve colour vibrancy. According to Dell, most monitors out there today use a 72 percent colour gamut.
The rest of the monitor appears to be the same as the previous 3007WFP, that includes the 2560x1600 native resolution, a 400 cd/m² luminance, a 700:1 contrast ratio and of course HDCP support. The 3007WFP-HC also comes complete with a height-adjustable stand with tilt and swivel capabilities, along with a combo card reader and four USB 2.0 ports.
The improved backlighting comes at a cost though. The UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC will cost $1699 and should be available in the US on November 21st; this compares to the 3007WFP at a slightly less eye-watering $1300.
