Deskmeet upgrade to 5700x3d

Looking for a sanity check on my upcoming upgrade. I'd like to upgrade my computer with a 5700x3d due to fps drops in cpu intensive games.

I'm currently running the 5600g in the Deskmeet x300 (with notoriously bad airflow) with a axp90-x47 FULL cpu cooler. I have replaced the PSU fan and reversed both the PSU fan and CPU cooler fan to function as outtake. This brought the temperatures under control and my 5600g is running at around 40c idle and somewhere around 50-60c while gaming.

I have heard that the x3d cpus are very hot. Ideally I'd probably go for the upcoming(?) 5500x3d but who knows when/if it will be released. The 5700x3d otoh is available and not too expensive.

Not sure if it's an obviously bad idea or not. Could this upgrade work out well or would I be completely crazy to go for it?

I didn't know that ASRock made prebuilt systems, but they do. Their support page for the x300 is just as good as the support page for their traditional motherboards.

The issue I see from their CPU compatibility list is the x300 motherboard only supports 65w TDP processors. 105w TDP processors such as the 5700x3d are not listed in their CPU compatibility list. The best processors listed for your motherboard is the Ryzen 9 5900 non-x and the illustrious 5700x.

I put the 5800x3d in my brother's system not terribly long after it was released, along with the RX 6900xt. These 3D-Vcache processors don't consume a lot of power but they do run hotter because of the Vcache die being placed on top of the Core Complex Die.

Yeah, the 5700x3d is nice but you'd need a really good graphics card and game on a high refresh rate monitor to get the most out of it. If you plan to game on a 60hz or 75hz monitor and you're going for a card that well supports a 60fps to 80fps rate at the given screen resolution, then you won't see much of a benefit from the 5700x3d over the 5700x.
What kind of monitor do you plan to use with this setup?
